The staff couldn't do more for us and very friendly. We had booked a room with a private pool and it was fantastic, a completely relaxing little haven. We ate a few times in the evening at the restaurant which is a set daily menu of 3 courses and we also did the on-site wine tasting which I would highly recommend. The other thing we did was order the picnic one evening which was lovely, all freshly prepared and delivered in picnic baskets to our room. The view is amazing, location is perfect to access every important point in the Douro Valley area but was in a place that you feel that you are in the middle of the mountains. Best of both worlds! Alice, the manager was a lovely person and helped us with good tips from the region! The pool itself was the best part, and since this was not enough, they have a hot water jacuzzi with a view from the river and the valley! The bedroom was huge, like having our own apartment. We enjoyed a lovely dinner the first night and breakfast both mornings by the pool which was spectacular. Beautiful views, would highly recommend.
