You can just simply sit in your balcony and view sunset and sunrise (if you feel lazy). Saman even arraged me a train ticket to go to Ella when I could not book it online from my country. Nuwara Eliya is very cold but they provide extra warm blankets, the hot water and hair dryer made it a bit easier to bear the cold and heaters are available for an extra fee. It is a bit far from centrum by walking but you can rent a scooter from the owners for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended!
