The owners are adorable, friendly and very welcoming. They even gave me a ride to the station when I left! What I liked the most is how real this place feels, unlike other ryokans where everything is too perfect and seems to be on display. And the bath felt like heaven after a long day. 100% recommended.

I wish I could have stayed longer at Yumoto Onsen Hotel. It is classy but also comfortable, a great combination for relaxation. I particularly liked the sitting in the outdoor onsen at night surrounded by rock and snow, soaking in volcanic water listening to the blue Shirogane Waterfall, magical!

The hot spring is good! We enjoyed the hot spring facilities, wearing yukata and the dinner spread is acceptable. It is very near to the beautiful Shirahige waterfalls. Shuttle bus is provided from the Biei Station - just remember to pre book with the hotel.
