Dinner was ok as was breakfast. The service was impeccable though, dinner in room at low table with waitress knocking to enter with food. Slightly uncomfortable at the table, not used to sitting like that and the bed wasn’t the comfiest. I believe it is the oldest ryokan in town. It was not overly luxurious, however, it was quite clean and comfortable. Our room had a private bath and a wonderful backyard garden. Beautiful tatami mat rooms, shoji screens, sliding doors, hanging scroll alcoves, peaceful gardens with stone lanterns - perfect! Delicious breakfasts, which look gorgeous too.
