This property is in such a beautiful spot nestled in the mountains with lots of greenery. The cabins are clean and tidy. The hotel staff are lovely too. The onsen is so nice, very warm and clean. One outdoor and one indoor onsen, free for those who stay overnight. Traditional tatami floor and futon beds.

The hotel was kind enough to let us check in very late at night. They also had a free ice cream and curry service which was a pleasant surprise! In terms of facilities, they were fairly average. Also the room size was decent.

This is the first ryokan I have ever gone to, and it was wonderful. The staff were very nice, including the gardener who I had met and talked with a few times. The breakfasts had a great variety, and were different every day, with a mix of Western and Japanese items available. The onsen was fun to walk to, since a bridge connects the main building and the onsen building. This was also my first onsen experience, and there are very informative instructions on how to use the facilities properly. It set me up for success at every other bath I ended up going to on my trip, and I'm really grateful. Would highly recommend going during the winter, to enjoy very pretty snowfall and snowy mountain views. I want to return during the spring or summer to enjoy the outdoor art village activities as well!!
