Me & my husband stayed for one night in the twin room with private hot spring bath. This huge room was very beautiful and cozy, clean & well equipped with different amenities (tea, kettle, mini fridge, yukatas, large tv with a Super Nintendo etc.). Just as promised in the listing. It was so lovely to enjoy the private onsen in our room, nobody to disturb us and no rush. The wooden tub fits two people well, even when sitting side by side. The window above the tub can be opened, the view is to a parking lot/other hotel. We had access to the hotel’s three other private onsen baths aswell and could use them whenever they were free, but we liked to stick to the one in our room. The location is excellent, there are some convenience stores nearby & you can walk from the bus station in about 10 minutes to the hotel. There are also some restaurants nearby. The hotel staff were very kind, welcoming and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay in Eidaya and would definitely love to come back sometime! It was such a wonderful little escape from bustling Tokyo.

The ryokan has family rooms and facilities for disabled guests. Beautiful temple stay. Food was really good. Nice outdoor bath as well. Nice to do a meditation in the temple in de morning.

The units in the ryokan are fitted with a kettle. There is a private bathroom with bidet in some units, along with slippers, a hair dryer and free toiletries. All units will provide guests with air conditioning, a safety deposit box and a flat-screen TV. The hotel was a lovely quiet Oasis from the crowded streets of Kusatsu. Our host was so lovely, friendly and helpful. She spoke fluent English and was able to explain the intricacies of Onsen. We had a lovely view from our room. The beds were lovely, soft and warm with the outside temperature dropping to 1deg C. Highly recommend for a stay. The home made puddings were amazing!

It was unfogetable eperience- we met the owner and it was amazing to see how past meets modern Japan. More then 500 years onsen was first esperience in my life also we enjoyed first time private onsen with my husband .We had breakfast and diner served in room and it was unforgettable , especially egg cooked in onsen! Guests who check-in before 18:00 will receive complimentary welcome sweets. Every room at this ryokan is air conditioned and comes with a TV. Location, comfort, and service were all excellent. The Ryokan was equipped with very good facilities. Private onsens were available as well, although you need to take turns to use one of the 4 shower rooms.

Lovely Ryokan on the fringe of Kusatsu Onsen. Nice quite location but has a 7/11 across the road and a couple of eateries nearby. In house onsen is a great addition, and the Japanese breakfast was filling and delicious.

The service is exceptional, the meals outstanding in taste and beauty, the integration of nature into the spa is very beautiful, the numerous hot spring baths are easily accessible and not crowded in July. I was very impressed.

Located along Houshi River, Houshi Onsen Chojukan features a public hot spring bath, Japanese-style accommodations with free Wi-Fi and Japanese cuisine. A wooden building stemming from 100 years ago, the property breathes a historical atmosphere. The onsen is amazing, they all have a great atmosphere and they have a mixed one. Great dinner and breakfast too!
