Western rooms come with twin beds and a seating area, while Japanese-style rooms have a tatami (woven-straw) floor and traditional futon bedding. All rooms are fitted with a TV, heating and an attached bathroom. Yukata robes and green tea are provided. We loved it all - the Japanese room, space, amenities, ski storage, onsen, foot massage - but most of all the staff, they were so lovely. For example, when we told them we’d arrive a bit early they got the room ready for us when we arrived, gave us a Xmas present when we left, and were so attentive to make sure we had a perfect stay. Would recommend to anyone staying in Hakuba, you won’t regret it.

Cosy little Ryokan with a very friendly and helpful owner. Conveniently located to everything plus it comes with an onsen.
Onsen/ hot spring is one of the best in Hakuba. Breakfast is standard buffet style like most Japanese ski resorts decent selection but same every day. Hotel has complementary wine and snacks between 4pm and 9pm in the lounge and complementary green curry and miso soup at the hotel entrance at other times. Nice after returning from the mountain.
"It's a small family-run hotel. The rooms are spacious enough for 3 people, with futon bedding on tatami mats. It's not far from the bus terminal. The bathroom and toilet are shared but very clean. There's a hot and cold water dispenser on the 1st floor, and a dry room in the basement. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, but it's advisable to book in advance. You can also have your luggage sent to the accommodation in advance with prior notice."
Beautiful ryokan with a great onsen! Extremly helpful and super friendly staff!
Staff were very friendly, always helpful. They kept our room and the hotel clean. Breakfast large and lot of choice. Nice to have complimentary tea and coffee. Pillow could have been a little softer. Enjoyed sleeping on tatami mats/ futon
Excellent helpful staff. Great location. Very traditional. Make sure you are comfortable to sleep on tatami if you pick that style of bedding. Breakfast is great, very Japanese though so most western kids won’t enjoy it (unless they like cold fish). Nice onsen too.
The owner/host picked us up from the train station and drove us back to the bus terminal with no extra charge. Everyone was lovely! Rooms were big, with lots of storage for suitcases. You get to experience sleeping on authentic Japanese style rooms with tatami flooring. Onsen was amazing too! Close to all bus stops/shuttle. Location was great. Walking distance to Happo One.
Oomukou Ryokan is conveniently located in the hart of Hakuba village. It's close to many great cafes and restaurants, ski rental stores, and convenient stores and you can access them on foot. You can also walk to Happo-One ski resorts on foot. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was a very charming lodging which provided comfortable stay for all of us. The hotel has the space where kids could hang out on a tatami area and adults could sit and chat in the front lobby.
