At the ryokan, the units are fitted with bed linen and towels. Our stay at Machi No Odoriba was simply perfect: from the moment they welcomed and checked us in to the moment we had to say goodbye. The highlight of this place is the staff. I will always remember the people I met here. They took the time to explain everything we needed to know and more about our room, the dishes we ate, the plates our food was served on and the main attractions to visit. They were always ready to answer every request and need for help. Their kindness was incomparable. But it was not just them. The room was beautiful: big and comfortable, with its own onsen. And the food was delicious: hands-down the best dinner and the best breakfast I had during my stay in Japan. Thank you for this authentic and fascinating experience!

Small apartment with a modern Japanese style. We stayed in a family room no beds, futon on tatami only. But the kitchen/ bath/ laundry , was perfect.
Incredible atmosphere, staff was super friendly and it was feeling like being threw back in time Cool onsen, particular traditional breakfast, worth trying it
Loved having the traditional Ryokan experience - sleeping on the futon and materials and amenities provided in the hotel. Perfect location.
A very comfortable, well appointed Ryokan with exceptional service, delicious traditional breakfast and the best coffee we’ve had at a hotel (proper espresso machine). The owners are so kind and even waited with us for our taxi to arrive. Would stay here again!
Great location, close to the Geisha Village, Castle and a 20 minute walk from many bars and restaurants. The ryokan was lovely and traditional, I loved the Yukata's, the onsen which we were able to use privately, the green tea in our rooms and the tatami mats and futon set up. Bungo and his mother were very kind, friendly and attentive. If you're looking for a traditional experience at a reasonable price, then I would recommend this ryokan.
Very beautiful, typical japanese ryokan, huge room with beautiful tatami and view on internal garden. The landlady is very welcoming, proactive and nice. The room had a WC and basin; the internal onsen (common bath) was very confortable, spacious and clean, with a typical hot tub. The position is very central and quiet. An excellent stay that surpassed our expectations
Beautiful little traditional Ryokan, we felt right at home. The tatami room with futon bed was very comfortable and super clean. Japanese breakfast in the morning was good. Great location, walking distance from the market, and all major attractions. The host was super friendly as well.
The whole Ryokan experience, sleeping on a futon over a tatame and including Onsen bath. It was exactly what we were looking for. It was an amazing experience for the whole family. And the hosts don’t measure efforts to make you feel welcome.
This Ryokan hotel is just next to two amazing sights: Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen Garden. The hotel provides you yukata for men and kimono for women, and you can keep them if you like (we did!). Breakfast was good but not great. The traditional Japanese style room was excellent with a small sitting area, which was quite pleasant. The staff was excellent and made us feel quite welcome. The onsen was excellent and quite hot; the water minerally and soothing. The facility was excellent.
fantastic family run ryokan (traditional japanese inn), with a shared onsen, outstanding food, and a traditional room with tatami floors, paper wall deco and clothes to wear during the stay (not mandatory of course). The manager is very kind and paying close attention to details. We had a delicious dinner in the room (highly recommended!!) prepared by the family, with salmon, tempura, sashimi, a large prawn, miso soup, rice, fruits, and may small nipples - it's the best dinner experience we had in Japan.
