The friendly staff held our luggage for the day but also let us check into the room a few hours early, and it was a lovely spacious Japanese style room including tatami floors but with two twin actual mattress beds. The room was huge with a nice view and was only a short walk from Kochi Station. It's only a short walk to the city area as well. Loved the Japanese style breakfast. My friend was ill so the staff were really helpful to help me take her food to our room and eat it there. It cost a little more than our usual budget but it was worth paying a little extra for a fancy night of Japanese style accommodation with friendly staff.

All rooms have a seating area, an LCD TV and a small fridge. Yukata robes are provided, while the attached bathroom comes with toiletries. The Japanese room was spacious. The breakfast very good. Lots of great options of western and Japanese food. Delicious!

If you would like to discover the area, cycling and hiking are possible in the surroundings and the ryokan can arrange a bicycle rental service. The location was amazing, on top of the valley. It is one of our favorite spots in Shikoku now! The staff was exceptionnal and even included a session where we could use the observatory (in the hotel) and we saw Saturn, it was very magical.

The staff owner also explained to me about the geopark and we had a nice chat during the breakfast. The sunrise views was very beautiful.
