The second we arrived, of course we felt the lovely Japanese hospitality by the staff. The Ryokan was as expected, absolutely beautiful. The private Onsen was super relaxing and calming. The breakfast in the morning was meticulously prepared, so many colours and tastes. Beautiful view of the mountains!

It also boasts a thermal-heated indoor swimming pool. Free WiFi is provided in public areas. Staff are nice and professional. Great arrangement and communication in advance. Private onsen is perfect for a family with kids and elderly. We stayed here for 2 nights with great variety of food.

It is located 26 km from Crasus Dome Oita and features a lift. The ryokan offers rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Very kind hostess, nice tasteful house, with double (in fact triple) onsens, great! Spaceous room. Morning coffee and boiled eggs served in room. Five Kannawa hells of Beppu within walking distance. Ask for dinner recommendation, and follow the advice! Do not miss the Kannawa steam bath, 5mins on foot. Parking easy, just come downhill by car, easier access that way.

Guests at the ryokan can enjoy an Asian breakfast. The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. We had a wonderful stay. It’s very spacious, well decorated, private onsen in the bathroom is amazing. The staff is friendly. We really appreciated the kaiseki dinner. Everything was perfect

Nice quiet corner beside a river with running water sounds, beside a rice Paddy field facing mountain views. Breakfast is great, Japanese style with many small dishes serving. Imagine after a morning spring bath your breakfast is ready to serve you that feeling is so great.

Providing city views, Beppu Kannawa Onsen HIROMIYA is located in the Kannawa Onsen district of Beppu, 26 km from Crasus Dome Oita and 5.5 km from Beppu Station. Featuring a shared lounge, the 2-star ryokan has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a shared bathroom. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. After staying in various hotels in Japan, I got to stay in Beppu Hiromiya for a night, and woa, what a difference it made. Miho, the host, is kind and sweet beyond words. She welcomes you with the warmth of a friend and the care of a grandma. Though she doesn’t speak English fluently, she does her best to provide all the helpful information about what to do in the area. A trip to a foreign country would not be complete without meeting kind and genuine locals. Meeting Miho has made my trip to Japan complete. Other highlights of staying in Hiromiya: - Near bus station and tourist information office. When you arrive at Beppu station, take a bus from station 3 and it will take you very close to the place. - Short walk from here to the best three hells of Beppu. Though it’s popular to see all 7 hells, I don’t think it’s necessary. Better to spend more time in less locations. - The steam on this road is beautiful during the day and at night. - Kannawa Hot Spring is next door which offers a very unique herbal steam experience that detox your whole body. You can get a discount ticket from Hiromiya. - There’s a small onsen on site if you don’t want to go out - Room is spacious and traditional

Ideally set in the Yufuin Onsen district, this ryokan provides an open-air bath, as well as a public bath. The accommodation features luggage storage space and a housekeeping service for guests. Professional and warmly receptions and servers. Very spacious room with an awesome view. Onsen at my own room. Dinner and breakfast are delicious! Very quiet area. Loving the vibe of this place!

Both free WiFi and parking on-site are accessible at the ryokan free of charge. Guests can use the hot spring bath and the public bath, or enjoy mountain views. The private Onsen was special. The large spacious accomodation was nice.

In the Yufuin Onsen district of Yufu, close to Kinrinko Lake, Assi House features a garden and a washing machine. Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property. Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, the non-smoking ryokan has a hot spring bath. Great location with very nice facilities and a cat that likes playing. The host does not speak English and I didn't speak much Japanese, but with a smartphone and a translation app we managed to communicate easily. I was allowed to leave my luggage even before the official time and to my surprise was allowed to check in immediately as the room was free. The private onsen has everything one might need and it can be used from 3pm to 10am. Perfect after a hike around the beautiful area.

Featuring free private parking, the 3-star ryokan is 46 km from Crasus Dome Oita. Norman Rockwell Yufuin Museum is 1.1 km from the ryokan. Ryokan Fukinoya is an exceptionally wonderful place to stay. The staff members were very gracious, the meals were amazing, and the accommodations were beautiful and comfortable. We loved our private onsen. We can't rave enough about Ryokan Fukinoya, definitely a highlight of our trip!
