If I could give 100 stars to this ryokan, I would do it! It was absolutely stunning experience in Nagano, the whole family and staff are extremely friendly, kind and polite. They receive lots of international travelers and they understand tourists needs. You MUST book dinners and breakfasts with them! It was amazing experience! On a practical note: rooms were authentic, hot water, heater were reliable. Location is superb, close to the temple and delicious snacks. This place is ideal for alternative travelers interested in local tradition and with the appreciation for culture and history: I wish the owners only the best customers!

At the ryokan, the units include bed linen and towels. I like how the property has very interesting furnitures that gives off the historical vibes. The owner is very nice and attentive.

The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. this is a fantastic small Japanese style inn that has great shared showers area and a restaurant that serves yummy breakfast and dinner if you wish. we stayed in a large tatami style family room that had private sink and toilet, and found the shared shower and bath area very clean and great hot water pressure. the inn is basically a old private home that has been turned into a boutique inn. the location is fantastic, less than 10 minutes on foot to train station, museums, castle, and all the picturesque shopping streets. great restaurant on premise served delicious and reasonably priced set menu. this is a delightful property!

The staff are great and super nice and courteous and very attentive. The breakfast was excellent.

They couldn’t have been more accommodating with changes or kinder when we visited.
