I recently stayed at this onsen resort in Yufuin and it was hands down the best onsen experience I've ever had! The rooms were incredibly spacious, equipped with everything we could possibly need, including a microwave and all cooking essentials. The private outdoor onsen was simply spectacular, offering a serene and private escape. It felt like having our own private villa in the heart of nature. Yufuin itself is a charming town, adding to the overall magic of the stay. What's even more surprising is the affordability of this luxurious retreat. Having stayed in much pricier onsen resorts before, this one stands head and shoulders above the rest. I can't wait to return to this little piece of paradise in Japan. Highly recommended!

Incredible hospitality, beautiful old house, and an open air private onsen to enjoy. They even asked about my diet and had a vegan meal as an option. Really good traditional Japanese inn experience in an ideal part of the city. It's less than a 10 minute walk from the ocean, shopping streets, and Beppu station which is also where the buses to the "hells" hot springs and ropeway can be taken.
Within walking distance to the Jigoku Meguri tour and the infamous Hyotan Onsen. There’s a lift for upper floors and it even has a kitchenette. The tatami floor is very nice. The futon is comfortable. It was a short stay but it was nice. My room even has a balcony. Retro bathroom with no bidet.
Very spacious room with private onsen. Suitable for families as they have double bed and tatami area for futons setup. Separate toilet and bath, and even changing area attached to the private onsen, which feels like going to a sento. Onsen facing a small private garden, which will be nice if it wasnt too cold to soak.
The place is a great value for the money. It exceeded our expectations. Rooms with foutons were very clean, warm and well designed. You will have all the checklist of a good ryokan here: several onsens (even outside one), yukatas, kaiseki. And even more: tea table with all the things you need, private toilet and wash basin, good internet. Host was very nice and welcome. Definitely would recommend this place.
Lovely ryokan about a 10 minute walk from the JR Yufuin station. Large comfortable tatami rooms with a view of Mt Yufu. Amazing public onsen (outdoor-indoor) adorned with rocks and a private onsen for families and couples - no reservation needed. Included breakfast. Nice proprietors.
The hotel has an onsen, which is nice (though way too hot). The hotel had not only tv, but also a remote to access Netflix and such. The tatami+futon is a nice original touch.
The lady was extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. The private onsen which can be booked out for 30 mins is amazing! You get the onsen experience in private which many people are afraid of public onsens. The room was very traditional with tatami mats and futon. It was super comfortable and didnt have any problems getting to sleep. Overall I would suggest ANYONE who is visiting the Beppu area to stay here. I will be staying again! 🙏
We had the room with private onsen and it was absolutely worth it. The futon beds were really comfortable. It was very affordable and high quality ryokan. Walkable distance from the train station. Tasty breakfast.
The room was lovely, especially the onsen bath in the room. It is hot but you can cool it down easily with a tap on the wall. Beautiful garden view at mealtimes and from the onsen. Food was excellent although even more adventurous than other Ryokan we have stayed in so prob not good for fussy eaters. Nice to have normal mattress rather than futon - much more comfortable. Plenty of plug and usb sockets. Able to get there from the Beppudaiku station on foot. Can also get buses nearby to visit the hells.
