Really excellent stay in this out of the way and beautiful place! Our room had a private hot spring bath - perfect for relaxing after a hike up to the many shrines on the mountain. We came for when the Kabuki theater had a show and it didn’t disappoint. Staff was multi-lingual. Food was excellent, Japanese set menus in a charming dining room.

The hotel is directly located at the base station of the ropeway to temple Tairyuji, hence is a great starting point for visiting it. They had one colleague at the check-in who spoke english.
