Room was lovely. Surroundings lovely.
We arrived late and although the place was very busy staff were welcoming.
The breakfast was excellent - very attractively presented well cooked food. We stayed there to visit our daughter as she doesn't have room for us to stay. We will be staying there again when we next visit.

The peace and quiet. The history. The architecture. The grounds. The public rooms with newspapers and magazines to sit and relax in. The staff went out of their way to look after every request. They kind and friendly. It was real a pleasure to stay there.
Wendover looked really fresh and welcoming. Better than when I was there before the pandemic.
Amazing Thai restaurant at the George and Dragon. The waitress remembered, to the letter and person, the order from 8 people and the food was fab.

Wendover is a very picturesque small town with lots of good restaurants and pubs to choose from. The Ridgeway Path goes through Wendover and this stretch of the path is very beautiful in that it traverses through some varied woodlands. It is also a great base for visiting other places of interest, such as the Natural History Museum in Tring.

It's in a beautiful part of the country (soon to be ruined by HS2 unfortunately) and there is plenty of access to great walks on Coombe Hill NT property, Wendover Woods - complete with Skywalk - as well as the Aylesbury Arm of the Grand Union Canal towpaths. Other NT properties are nearby.
This is a beautiful old coaching inn right on the High Street in Wendover - full of character and really well looked after. Our room was delightful - comfortable bed with very good linen, a fridge (loved the milk being put in there rather than the usual sachets) and a very well appointed bathroom with very fluffy towels. The breakfasts were excellent - cooked to order so hot and fresh. Every member of staff we came across was really friendly and helpful. And the Sipsmith sloe gin in the rooms was a delightful touch. highly recommend.
Loved the historic building, the staff were wonderful , the food was excellent we are there every night at our favourite table. The bed was super comfy once you 'climbed' into it, my partner had a lovely birthday surprise made by the chef with 'Happy Birthday' written in chocolate. The hotel is right in the centre of Wendover with ample private parking, our room was at the front In the old building. The character of the building has been kept, we even got a hug on leaving!!!!
Hale House is a fantastic property, spacious, modern and spotless with everything catered for. The room was large with a sitting area, and space to relax when you are in the property. It was an easy walk to Wendover, where you have a large selection of restaurants and bars to sample. Whether you are meeting friends or having a stop over on a walk, you are made extremely welcome. The breakfast selection was incredible, and it was perfectly cooked - great start for our day.
Loved the ambiance. The food menu was not to our taste. Although the breakfast was good. Only thing missing was porridge. Loved our room. Shame the safety rail fell off the door. Just as well it was me and not my partner who has mobility problems which is why we had an accessable room.. Staff were very friendly and approachable.
Accommodations were great-- was perfect for the husband, me and our 6-year old. She loved sleeping in a bunk bed! Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was very comfortable and nicely appointed.
Loved seeing young adults making a go of it at this place...and getting it right! Congrats, guys!
We were walking the Ridgeway and the Red Lion was an ideal overnight stop before the last section to Ivinghoe Beacon. Very comfortable room. Friendly staff. Good pub dinner with nice selection of beers and a varied choice of breakfasts.
Our stay was excellent. We used rooms to prepare for a family wedding. The staff went out of there way to help us. I would highly recommend this hotel The room was just beautiful and the breakfast superb. Thanks so much.
Immaculately clean. very comfortable bedroom. The home was modern and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was delicious, freshly made. The host Susanna was very friendly. Overall I had a fantastic stay.
Really lovely Hotel, prefect for an overnight stay on the Ridgeway Walk. The staff were really friendly and the food was excellent. The Room was full of hidden extras, but we felt it was a bit small.
The room was large, very clean and a huge bed. Lots of nice extras in the room like coffee pods, biscuits a small glass of sloe gin each. Very quiet and breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices.
Everything was excellent! We had a lovely stay in Wendover. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was delicious. Location was great too - super quiet but still close to the village centre.
Great hotel. lovely, friendly staff. Excellent room and delicious breakfast. A great touch - the free gin and the ‘night cap’ on the landing. The Dyson fan in the room was also a real bonus.
Welcome, surroundings, helpfulness, happy atmosphere, home produced honey and home made jams. Easy attractive walk into Wendover centre. Fresh milk and cold water in appropriate sized fridge.
Beautiful and comfortable house, very welcoming host, fabulous breakfast. Location excellent for the Ridgeway, the town of Wendover (which is lovely!) and all local amenities.
