The Wheatsheaf is a pub that offers accommodation in an outside converted building (3 rooms, differing sizes (twin, double). The rooms are ensuite, comfortable and moderately spacious depending on the type. Due to to the way the building has been converted the rooms differ slightly in layout, and as I said above, space is determined by bed/occupancy. The rooms were quiet and cosy, with comfortable beds. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. Tea/coffee facilities in the rooms. En suites either with electric or boiler driven showers depending on the room. Pleasant, friendly, comfortable in a quiet (and quaint) village near Guildford in Surrey, being 3-4 miles outside the said town, and very close to Godalming. Parking available at front of pub for guests.

Nice town, which we'd not visited for nearly 50 years - the first, apparently, to be lit by electric light (1881). It's a super high street, and there's a nice riverside park with a colonnade dedicated to Jack Phillips, who was the wireless operator on the Titanic. He also gives his name to the town's Wetherspoons! The Surrey Hills countryside around Godalming is really lovely too.

I wasn’t coming for pleasure so had dinner in the hotel both nights. Just 3 parking spaces ludicrous. However, public car park free after 6.30pm right through Sunday. But as I had arrived on Friday it would have cost more into Saturday morning. The room 104 was small and over the kitchen air con units. On the plus side, short corridor outside and no upper storey so blissfully quiet. Would have preferred a bath.

Do not stay at the Inn on the Lake, unless you have come into money.
If you have stay somewhere else anyway.

Godalming is an attractive small town on the edge of the Surrey Hills. We’re regular visitors, our daughter and family live there. The area around the high street has some good shops, nice restaurants, pubs and it seems like there’s a new coffee shop opening each week.

An interesting little town that has retained much of its character despite morphing into another notch in the London commuter belt. The centre has some good independent shops. The park has a poignant memorial to the radio operator on the Titanic. The meadows next to the Wey navigation offer pleasant walks. The woods at Winkworth arboretum are spectacular all year round. Road and rail links to London and the south coast are very good.

The hotel was interesting , lots character, staff caring and he helpful in a difficult situation
With no water , heating , of food, they did there best to make my visit a happy one , it was a lovely room.
Comfortable apartment in a good location in the centre of Godalming main street. It was well furnished, comfortable bed and clean. Also very quiet which was nice given its location. There were reverse air con units in each room so nice and warm. Wi-fi was good. Kitchen was clean and had everything included although we didn't actually use it apart from making tea. The price was competitive for the time of year and if that was the case in the future we would stay again.
Great location and suited our stay in town for a family wedding perfectly. The staff was very, very friendly and went above and beyond on several occasions to ensure we had what we needed, even going so far as to setting out breakfast very early on our check out day because they knew we had to be off ahead of the normal breakfast time. The restaurant and pub areas are beautiful and served as a great socializing area for our family and friends between wedding events.
The staff were exceptional. Frank on breakfast, Ivana in general charge and also one of the waitresses in particular, Alexa, though all were very friendly and helpful. My husband said the Dover Sole he had in the restaurant was one of the best he had ever eaten! Everyone fell over themselves to be helpful when we dined with our 3 year old grandson while his Mum was in hospital having his new baby brother (the reason we were down in Surrey in the first place).
The facilities were great and obviously a lot of thought went into the place. I highly recommend Pound Corner to anyone looking for accommodation in this area. I stayed in flat 3, which was very spacious and modern. It was well designed and made the most of the available space. I had a quick look at the other flats, and they too were very nice. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure that everything was good.
The Withies Inn is the quintessential English countryside inn and pub experience. The pub is warm and inviting with delicious food and drink, fireside seating, local flavor and an authentic pub ambience. The rooms are beautifully appointed with lush bedding and towels. The proprietor, Hugh, and his team are friendly and professional. I highly recommend The Withies Inn for your next visit to Surrey.
Withies far exceeded our expectations. The rooms are nicely updated and comfortable while the restaurant and bar remain authentic and historic. Hugh and his team could not have been more welcoming. Breakfast was one of the best we had in England. We would definitely stay again.
As historic architectural preservationist I was very impressed with beautifully restored building. Modern comforts paired kindly with historic details made for a very comfortable, inviting space.
Breakfast was lovely. Hotel beautifully dressed quality fixtures and fittings tastefully decorated. We felt very valued customers and very comfortable in our surroundings. Location good
Located in the central of Godalming, near train station, bus stop, shops and restaurants. Easy and convenient to go to Winkworth Arboretum. A perfect place to stay in Godalming.
Convenient location, close to the centre of Godalming and easy to get out and explore the surrounding area. Clean and comfortable. Very easy check in with clear instructions.
The hotel was well situated close to the A3, and [as a single room] was value for money as most available rooms in the area were double rate. The room had lots of character,
Beautiful spot, nice hotel and restaurant. Dinner was especially good. Gave us a gift in our room, which was kind. If was the best shower we had in 3 weeks of hotels.
