Wishaw; The town centre is basically a high street crossed by another main street, These streets house the main shopping area and like all high streets suffer from the on-line blight which have closed many small shops. however what I liked about it is the area one can visit using Wishaw as a hub, whether it be Carluke, Overtown the Clydeside or Rosebank there is always some where to go, and the nearby countryside scenery is lovely. the added bonus is that car parking is largely free and often not difficult to find a space. my favourite place Denholms bakery in Stewarton Street, you gotta try their pies

Not a lot ...was just visiting a friend who lives iin the area. Hoping it improves in time as it is a beautiful building and could look really amazing and I hope the developers do a good job. Although it was a bit of a mess and the outside a bit boggy it WAS at onetime a gorgeous house it could be again if the owners put in the effort.

I regularly stay at Bonkle House and find it very safe and comfortable. I work shifts on and off at the local hospital and the accommodation is 15 mins drive away. The beds are super soft and comfortable, absolutely perfect after a 12hr shift and the showers are just magic. Anna the host, is super welcoming and kind.

Wishaw is my home town and has changed a lot over the years, so a little run down, like most high streets. The surrounding countryside is beautiful. There are some shops but Lanark or Motherwell are probably your best bet for shopping.

The rooms were very comfortable and clean, there was very good heating and the ensuite was spacious, spotless and modern. Breakfast was ample and delicious. The owner was very friendly and helpful, he told us the best way to get to our friends home and also the best route to the M74. We stay at quite a lot of hotels/guest houses and this was definitely one of our top 3, we will go back if we're in that area again, we would recommend Herdshill to our friends.

Friendly welcome. Nice spacious room with comfortable bed, and good shower in the ensuite bathroom. Nice fluffy towels. TV and tea/coffee making in the room. Very good breakfast in the morning served by pleasant, cheery staff. Good location for me with regular buses to Carluke and Wishaw just a short 10-minute walk away.

I never actually stayed due to the condition of the Hotel. It was unhabitable. Dirty. Ripped carpets and staff very unhelpful they even admitted that the owners had neglected the Hotel.A Health and Safety check needs to be done. And I will be taking this up with my local MP and papers.

The rooms are enormous. We paid for a double and triple room and got two rooms with double bed, single bed, and sofa area in both. In any other hotel these would be called a family suite and charged at high rates. The house is beautiful, a historic Scottish house from 1860

excellent breakfast, quality shower; very powerful, large rooms, scenic views. I usually stay in large chain hotels, but are finding these owner managed ones are far more homely and your supporting the local area family business rather than some multi national operation.
