A gem of a city, and a secret that now the people of Edinburgh are cottoning onto. It's got a beautiful Heritage Quarter with loads of trendy bars, cafes and restaurants. Fantastic old buildings, a huge amount of history and one of the most beautiful parks in the world - Pittencrieff Park - is glorious. It really is like a mini-Edinburgh without the fuss and crowds, and such a lovely place to hang out.

We travelled to visit Knockhill Racing Circuit for a booked experience day.
Arrived on a lovely sunny day so decided to visit Pittencrief park on our way to the hotel (Adamson Hotel in crossford) where we had a great walk around the park and encountered many of the beautiful sights including the squirrels.
All in all a wonderful visit and we will definitely be back at some point in the (hopefully not too distant) future

the town is compact and the centre has all the shops you might need and plenty of places to eat
there is a lot of history to the place and if youve never been there is plenty to take in
road access is good from the m90 and parking is easy
its also just a short train journey to either Glasgow or Edinburgh
Very friendly and helpful staff. Reception staff very welcoming.
Room clean and modern, if needing a bit of TLC, eg Chipped paint on doorframe.
Breakfast is limited in selection but good quality for a budget hotel. Chef bringing the breakfast out was very friendly and made some of the nicest scrambled eggs I've had outside luxury hotels.
Location is good. On a bus route to the QM train station and the city centre.
Very good for not even £60 night.
Comfortable. Good breakfast. Friendly helpful staff - just felt like you already knew them & they’re helping a friend.
I like this type of hotel because they are very practical & functional. Good location for what I needed. I’m not sure about the value for money but everything seems so expensive these days. Cheaper than Edinburgh thank goodness - we choose to stay in Dunfermline now when visiting Edinburgh. Good parking & free.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The location was great. The room was comfortable. Free WiFi and tv. Tea and coffee. I had a breakfast included in the price, I was really happy with. The decor and atmosphere of the whole hotel was very good. There's a menu for the cooked breakfast, I had a very tasty vegetarian breakfast that tasted very good. There was also cereals fruit juices tea coffees and toast.
Very clean, quiet and comfortable with very friendly, helpful staff, and an excellent location in a quiet, easily accessible part of Dunfermline. My heart sank when I arrived because there was a wedding in progress, but the room was the other side of the hotel and I didn't hear a thing. I would strongly recommend Garvock House and plan to go back with my partner who was unable to come because of sickness.
We decided to base ourselves in Dunfermline to travel around Stirling, Edinburgh, Perth and St Andrews. We choose the City Hotel because of its central location.
It exceeded our expectations. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The meals in the restaurant were superb and competitively priced. The drink prices were excellent too.
We would definitely recommend the City Hotel.
The property is located right on the Fife coastal path, making it very convenient. The full Scottish breakfast was splendid, and very filling. The room featured a beautiful view of the sunset over the Firth, heated floor in the bathroom, and a very very comfortable bed. Also, the shower had a massage head which was very welcome after the long walk up from Kincardine.
Nice Hotel ( 2nd Stay here ) Excellent Restaurant that does 'Steak on a Stone' & very acceptable bedroom space, very central location for Dunfermline attractions & plentiful bars.

Lovely staff. Very helpful and friendly. Had amazing lunch and breakfast tasty and good choice. Looking forward to seeing renovations completed on our next visit. Hotel is in good location good parking facilities and bus stop opposite for easy access to Dunfermline City. Not our first stay here and will definitely stay again.
We had a warm greeting from the hotel owner. Parking was good. Our room was clean, simple and comfortable. The bathroom was excellent. We loved the hearty breakfast. When we return to Dunfermline the Auld Mill will be our preferred hotel.
The hotel was in a great location, a short walk to the train station for Edinburgh and a further few minutes in Dunfirmline town centre, although quite hilly. The evening meal was very good as was the breakfast the following morning.
We liked that the hotel was just outside the town centre, as we wanted a nice place to just chill out and relax, where the hotel is located there is still plenty of things to do around the hotel there were lots of places to eat.
Lovely wee hotel set back from the main road so nice and peaceful. The rooms were spotlessly clean and spacious. Super comfy bed too. We'll definitely book here again when back in Dunfermline.
Pitbauchlie has always been a great hotel for many years. Gardens are beautiful to sit outside and enjoy cocktails. Restaurant, bar and lounge are excellent food is fantastic.
I liked that the hotel was close to the airport and sites that we could visit. It was also close to restaurants which made it good to get some good food when needed.
