The town itself didnt seem to have alot going for it.

The town itself didnt seem to have alot going for it. Most shops were shut and the food options were poor. I stood at the bar at the Fountain Inn for 10 minutes waiting for a staff member to appear and no one did.

Okehampton was a cosy little place. The people seem exceptionally friendly. Ma'ida was a good meal and you can bring your own booze from the nearby Lidl... if you're exceptionally stylish, like what we are.

Okehampton is typical of most small market towns, there are a couple of nice pubs, not many places to eat except the two pubs and takeaways. The Town Hall, opposite the White Hart, is a beautiful building, there are some pleasant walks around Simmons Park and the Castle is worth a visit. The railway has reopened with trains running to Exeter which is fantastic, although when we went, the train we were going to come back on was cancelled, which was annoying when there is only one an hour.

We picked up a local leaflet for Okehampton from our hotel, which gave an enjoyable walk around the main points of the town and brief details of some history. There are numerous coffee shops, hotels and other places for a coffee and/or snack. Lots of independent shops in the little arcades and along the high street.

Small town enjoying the recent re-arrival of a railway station, albeit a bit of a hike uphill from the town centre if you're on foot. Clean and pleasant environment, friendly local folk, plenty of all the shops you could need and loads of gift shops/quirky places to explore. A good centre for walking enthusiasts.

We got the warmest of welcomes from Natasha when we got to the Seven Stars, with a cup of tea on arrival. Our room was small, but with everything we needed and very clean and newly decorated. Both Natasha and Colin were attentive hosts, clearly very proud of their B&B, which they have renovated from scratch. We had a lovely supper, with a roaring log fire going in the dining area. Breakfast was just as good. The village and church were lovely.

Great location with village pubs and shops and neighbouring village in short walking distance. Hosts make every effort to ensure guests enjoy their stay and make the most of the surrounding area. Breakfast is superb and would put many hotels and restaurants to shame. Bathrooms are particularly nice. Hot tub and garden are in a nice private setting. It does all actually resemble the photos unlike other places we have stayed.

I had an excellent stay. Communications were very clear before I arrived. Signage was very clear on arrival. The location was tranquil and quiet. The view was great. The room was lovely, with nice fittings in the Bathroom. Breakfast was as requested and homemade bread and marmalade were an additional treat. Parking was easy in the Farm Yard. Near the A30 and near Okehampton which has a nice pub the Fountain and a Waitrose.

All of it. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, and well maintained. Bathroom had a large modern shower and was equally spacious. Likewise the dining room was well decorated and maintained and the cooked breakfasts were spot on. I would thoroughly recommend this guest house and would be my first place to check if/when I next visit Okehampton. Thank you for you lovely service and welcome.

Great location for exploring Dartmoor and other local towns and villages in Devon and Cornwall. Thanks very much again, we will be back x

Large room in the farm house which was clean. Beds and facilities not quite up to hotel quality, but so long as you understand this before hand it should not matter, as we slept well and we were comfortable. Breakfast was good and hosts, who were obviously hard working and friendly, catered for my wife’s dietary needs. The b&b is also dog friendly.

Great location as we were cycling the Devon Coast to Coast. However the staffing issues meant tricky to get hold of towels that we wanted to hire and some delay in getting into the room. However we enjoyed our stay.
