If you like nature, silence, art and friendly local people, we recommend this side of lake Toya. If you prefer entertainment (for kids), shopping and luxury, you have to be at the other side of the lake. We loved to cook in the well equipped kitchen with fresh vegetables from the farm nearby and products from the lovely farmers matket in the village. The staff are super friendly and helpful, when we had an issue, they came out and fixed it while we were out. The house was always warm, and sleeping was comfortable. With decent kitchen facilities and an amazing shower/onsen set up which was just what we needed after a day in the snow.
