Beautiful surroundings we felt completely immersed in the New Zealand native bush, you can tell the property is well taken care of by the hosts, which as a kiwi i really appreciate. Loved listening to the native birds in the morning and the rustle of the trees in the wind, and looking up at the stars from our private spa, a completely relaxing experience.

The house is beautiful, warm and very comfortable. There are two bedrooms with double beds, a room with double bunks and a sofa bed in the living room. The layout of the house is so good, and a huge bonus was a lockup garage. The kitchen was extremely well equiped plus there is a laundry with washing machine and dryer. The air-conditioning was very much appreciated as it was freezing, raining and hailing most of the day. Be sure to get supplies along the way as there really isn't any shopping in and around the area, though there are some cafes.

Owaka Lodge was a great overnight stop, in a small hamlet. It was clean, plenty of hot water. Gaynor is an excellent hostess, very chatty and the buns were a bonus

The accommodation was very welcoming and cosy. Facilities were excellent (great heat pump). It was perfect. Such a fabulous view of the ocean and beautiful birdsong in the morning. Additional touches such as a picnic backpack for guests were really lovely.

A gem in the Catlins area! Great little cabin and very tidy. Cozy but still spacious and you have there everything you might need for a stay :) Location is also great for exploring the beautiful places Catlins has to offer.

Very good communication between the hosts and ourselves. Lovely quiet location and close to some fantastic walks. The kitchen had everything including a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge . Very clean. Beds comfortable . Lovely get away for our wedding anniversary

First and foremost the cleanliness and building maintenance stood out. I was surprised to read that the house is 9 years old as it looks brand new. The facilities are complete and the view from the spa bath is the best we have seen in NZ.
