Towels and bed linen are available in the apartment. For added privacy, the accommodation has a private entrance and soundproofing. I gave this property 5 stars because there was nothing to dislike. Very nicely decorated and well equipped little house right in the center of Kirkwall that felt like a home from home. I had my choice of the two bedrooms and opted for the back bedroom which was wonderfully quiet with a comfy bed and choice of pillows. The welcome basket was very generous and the price for two nights was very reasonable. It is surrounded by shops and coffee places. I fully recommend this to anyone as a great option to a hotel.

Housed in a building dating from 1985, this guest house is 15 km from Maeshowe and 15 km from Standing Stones of Stenness. The guest house has family rooms. Runa Guest House is the perfect place to stay if you prefer a place in the countryside. The view are wonderful and even if it looks far away from both Stromness and Kirkwall you can safely choose to stay here. You can visit the nearby Kicthener Memorial (not to crowded) and there is only a short drive to the main attractions. Robert is a very friendly host and is willing to give a good advice or two on what to see on Orkney. Hopefully we will be back sometime in the near future.

Even though Burray is 20 minutes or so from Kirkwall, the drive was very interesting and we enjoyed the experience.
