There are a couple of places you can visit nearby as well as go for a drive. The rooms for 6 were pretty good, spacious, well equipped and very clean. plenty of parking space out back as well.

Apartments are situated over The Helm's bar and restaurant and in the Cinnamon Wharf complex, on the beautiful Westport Quay. We informed the management of the estimated time of our arrival and told them we would get a taxi straight to the facility. When we arrived at the Westport train station we were met by a member of the management in a mini bus. Lovely surprise. When my husband and friend arrived much later that evening the kitchen was closed but they cheerfully reopened it and fed them with a fabulous plate of fresh fish and chips. The food was absolutely delicious and very plentiful. The owners and staff were wonderful, very warm and friendly. The apartment was very pleasant and comfortable. I cannot speak highly enough of the people of this warm and welcoming place. I hope to return there someday and very highly recommend it to people looking for a lovely vacation experience. Thank you again to the owners and staff of the Helm. Westport is a great little town in a stunningly beautiful location.😁👍

The property features garden and inner courtyard views, and is 3 km from Thomond Park. The homestay also provides free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. We loved everything about our stay. It was the perfect historical setting. The grounds were so beautiful to walk, watch the swans, or sit at the big window (if raining) and enjoy the gardens. It’s still close enough to town to see the sites or take a tour then return to a relaxing home. Sharing a house and meeting other travelers was a bonus. Most of all, we enjoyed our evening with the host (Mark) and his son (Harry) sharing stories. We highly recommend staying at the Shannon River House.

The property is non-smoking and is located 700 metres from Cork Custom House. The staff was so friendly. Excellent spread for breakfast every morning, could not believe it was free. Rooms were clean, nice fitness facility. Couldn't have had a better stay.

We enjoyed our stay very much, despite the poor weather.
