We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Nikaho - a great base for exploring (with a car) attractions in Tsuruoka and Sakata as well as views and waterfalls around beautiful Mt Chokai.

The house itself is extremely inviting and comfortable, with heating/cooling options and all facilities, a wonderful outlook, and it exhudes peace and serenity. The private onsen is superb, and all rooms are spacious. The meals were meticulously prepared and presented by our charming and friendly hosts. The area is a great place year round. We explored the lake area, towns to the south, and the wonderful mountain areas to the north. All appliances and facilities had clear and concise instructions in many languages, and Tatsuya was proactive and quick to respond at all times.

This property was perfect for our family of 5. It had its own parking space and all the accommodations we could need. The shower room was spacious and the kitchen was great. Check-in/out was easy and it was walking distance to some great cafes and a park for kids.

The room was nice and bed was comfy. House is big and clean. Host is very welcoming. Washing machine and dryer are very easy to use. Need to bring your own towels. We forgot. They also have goats and chickens, kids loved it!
