As others have said, it's a sort of communal living guesthouse which feels like you're living with housemates. I met some lovely people while staying there and we cooked and ate together. I would recommend this place to anyone coming to Yakushima, particularly those with a car.

The hotel staff is extremely friendly, helpful and trying to accommodate English communication. The rooms are amazing and exactly as shown on the images; beautiful design, clean and offering the necessary amenities. The views are breathtaking!
