I purchased the room as a Christmas present for my daughter, her husband, and their three children. They loved the hotel, but it was frustrating that they could not check in until 4:00pm, which is after dark this time of year, and they had to check out by 11:00am. It was a high price to pay for the family to sleep one night.

The grounds, the hosts, the accommodations. It was a last minute choice and they couldn’t have been nicer. The old horse barn has been converted to a lovely space, so comfortable and very accessible for my blind husband. Wonderful stay!

Vacasa manages the property and we got lots of reminders of pre-check-in and check-in - in fact, too many. :) We got the lock box code via SMS the day before. There were 2 lock boxes around the door. We had to try both and eventually found the key. The lockbox with the key was quite loose and with enough wiggling, it could be forced open without the code. The apartment is on the second floor. It is very big, 2 floors with a loft on second floor - enough for 7 people to sleep. It would be a super good value for big families. There were only 2 of us so we used only the ground floor. Lots of thoughts went into the skiing decor. Kitchen was well stocked with tools and appliances, modern stove, full fridge, dish soap. Bed was clean though a little soft for us. Bathroom was clean. There was a working washer and dryer. Quiet neighborhood. Good location. Parking was easy and just outside the apartment. We enjoyed the stay.

The property was a great size for my husband and me. Just far enough from anchorage we didn’t feel too stuck in the city but close enough to convenient areas. Great starting place if you plan to do things in Whittier/girdwood like we did.

Location is great, close to the resort and restaurants. Market across the street was ideal. Older property but clean and comfortable. Kitchen well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc. Good value!
