From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the warmest hospitality from Sanjeewa and his family. He picked us up from the railway station and back. Moonlight is located in a peaceful and serene area surrounded by stunning greenery of rise plantations and little green islands of palm trees, which made a truly tranquil and relaxing atmosphere. The room is clean with comfortable beds and all the amenities you need for the stay. Delicious and authentic Sri Lankan cuisine for breakfast and dinner, one of the best we had in SL. His family is expirienced in safary trips, be sure you book with them, you will see all the animals and Sanjeewa will provide you with free lunch, snacks and soft drinks. Overall, we couldn't be happier with our stay, we will come back one day...

Good size room and bathroom, does everything you need for a short stay to visit yala. Great view of the rice field, very peaceful. Host is such a lovely person, good to chat to and cooked us vegan dinner as we requested - it was extremely tasty, super generous portions and had great variety!!

The family was extremely helpful, they gave us everything we needed. A wonderful breakfast, great hospitality. The breakfast alone is worth the price of the entire stay. The room was very clean. We went on the safari with them and saw everything, including 2 leopards. Definitely would come back again.

Such kind and most welcoming staff. Beautiful surroundings and rooms. The spa was absolutely amazing, and you get good value for your money. The food was very delicious and so many different dishes to choose from

Stand-out experience was the boat tour (right from the dock) to the grove of trees on the opposite shore where you can see flying foxes, egrets, herons, ibis, indian darters, parrots, pelicans and crocodiles. The profusion of wildlife is incredible. Go just before sunset.

We spent three nights here and had such a wonderful time. Kasun and Geethika were great hosts; friendly, chatty, and helpful. Nothing was too much for them and Kasun was very happy to get tonic for my wife which we really appreciated. They arranged a safari to Yala National Park which ended up just the two of us; it was wonderful with elephants and a leopard seen. They can arrange taxis and washing. The evening meals are freshly cooked and very tasty and made with little or no spice to suit our taste. The hotel is very clean and tidy and Kasun and Geethika take great pride in this. There was no signs of the wear and tear we have seen in other, more expensive places. The pool is lovely, cooling, and clean with areas of shade and those for sun loungers. The breakfast was really nice and included fresh fruit, toast and omelettes that were just lovely. We had a large double room that was spacious. The bed was two medium sized double beds put together which was amazingly comfortable. The aircon was great, the shower had multiple options and there is a covered seating area outside for relaxing. We have no hesitation recommend this and providing a high rating as we would definitely come back if returning to Sri Lanka.
