I wanted accommodation were we could see plenty of wildlife and be surrounded by nature. Arenal Observatory Lodge exceeded out expectations. We saw beautiful birds everywhere along with other wildlife. We considered the drive back to La Fortuna to be relatively easy, so did not mind that it was a little bit out of the way. Excellent breakfast and very accommodating and friendly staff. Highly recommend that horse trek here as well.

The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. Andrés and his family were amazing host, super flexible and made sure we had a great time. The apartment was spotless with great attention to detail. The kitchen was really well equipped and the wifi super fast and reliable. We ran out of gas for cooking, and Andrés organised to stop by and swap out the gas bottle immediately - amazing service. Would highly recommend
