The staff were incredibly kind and went out of their way to help me find a reliable garage and get my car fixed promptly. The room was clean and comfortable, providing much-needed relaxation. The dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, exceeding my expectations. Though my stay was brief, the exceptional service and hospitality left a lasting impression. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We stayed in the cabana, which looked exactly like the photos—clean, cozy, and well-maintained, with a hot shower and cold AC for a comfortable stay. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a refreshing fresh juice, which was a lovely touch. The breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of flavors to start the day. They also offer tuk-tuk rides to Sigiriya and Pidurangala Rock and safari experiences at competitive prices, making it super convenient for exploring the area.

Boasting a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The guest house also offers free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. Our stay was magnificent. The host picked us up from train station when we arrived late from Colombo. We easily discussed anything and he also rented us scooter and booked safari tour for us for reasonable price. The room was nice and breakfast just amazing. Definitely recommend for anyone.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights in the Pearl of The Jungle private tree house on the property. Sameera and his staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating. We enjoyed 2 dinners and breakfast each morning- the food was absolutely wonderful… would highly recommend for this alone. Our treehouse was quiet and extremely comfortable. The open air bathroom was nice and clean. We would live at the Mutu village if we could!

The hospitality was top-notch—friendly hosts, delicious food, and great attention to detail. The location was perfect for exploring nearby attractions like Sigiriya and Minneriya National Park. Each evening, we were treated to an absolutely delicious buffet dinner, showcasing the best of Sri Lankan cuisine. Beyond the resort's impeccable amenities and dining, its location proved to be an excellent base for exploring the region's iconic attractions. We found it incredibly convenient to visit Sigiriya, Minneriya National Park, and Polonnaruwa. If you're looking for a relaxing, well-located, and truly memorable stay in Sri Lanka, Sun Shade Resort is an absolute must.

All the staff were incredibly attentive, and Anuu gave us great advice and even invited us to a dinner/karaoke with locals — we have such wonderful memories of it.
