The accommodation offers a spa centre. Guests at Sleeping Elephant Beach Resort will be able to enjoy activities in and around Tangalle, like cycling. It started when we arrived and were already awaited and greeted by manager John and his girlfriend Adele with big smiles :) They were so very helpful and nice throughout our stay and made the experience perfect. John always had tips for us about where to go and was always available when we had any questions. We were staying in one of their two villas, and it was so nice to have our own living room with comfy couch and even small kitchen with two fridges for drinks. The villas are the most set back from the front of the property and offer perfect privacy if that's what you want. Everything was super clean and nicely furnished - we felt very comfortable. The terrace with lounge chair and sitting area with coffee table was ideal for having a morning coffee and just enjoy the sounds of nature. The staff! Nuan and Ruzindu (I hope I wrote the names correctly) were the two waiters in the restaurant, and they both did a great job. While I do not remember the chef's name, I need to mention him and the kitchen staff as well, because the food there was some of the best we had during our stay in Sri Lanka. Also, Tila, who takes care of the cleaning and gardens, together with another man, whose name I unfortunately can't remember, where truly warm and kind to us and always passed by our villa for a chat whenever they passed. The staff, together with John and Adele made the stay there to what it was - PERFECT! The property itself is simply beautiful: Laid out very well with lush greenery and nicely done paths throughout, there are 5 rooms in total - 2 villas and 3 bungalows. The hotel was planned and designed very thoughtfully and you feel the emphasis on the detail there. It sits on a beautiful stretch of beach, which is always empty and you can walk for miles in any direction. The sea was not swimmable while we were there due to the strong waves, but it was still beautiful just to look at it and enjoy the views.

Vegetarian, halal and vegan options can also be requested. The posh hotel is in a beautiful location, though it is a little far from Yala Reserve. It has great facilities, an amazing pool, a rooftop bar, a pool table, a karaoke room, and a spa. The spacious rooms have a garden balcony that leads to the pool area.

Set in Tangalle, 600 metres from Tangalle Beach, Ashansa Lagoon Resort offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a garden and a private beach area. Among the various facilities are a terrace, a restaurant, as well as a bar. The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, room service and free WiFi. A very well-kept facility, located in a quiet location, with access to the lagoon. We swam in a kayak belonging to the facility and had the opportunity to observe many species of birds, including eagles. Moreover, while sitting for breakfast, you can admire several species of colorful birds flying between the trees. Fantastic! Extremely spacious and clean room. Food also very good. Extremely nice and helpful gentleman. He arranged for us to pick up a tuk tuk at the hotel. We recommend this place!

The Alpha Monkey hotel & Tree house offers a spa centre. Wow - really special and unique stay here. Truly on the beach. Loved hearing the sea right next to us while in bed. Shower was also great - really powerful. Staff were also lovely and the hotel’s bar/ restaurant was the perfect place for sunset drinks on the beach.

A selection of options including local specialities, pancakes and fruits is served for breakfast, and breakfast in the room is also available. Guests can enjoy a meal at the on-site family-friendly restaurant, which serves Chinese cuisine and also offers vegetarian, dairy-free and halal options. We were really happy we chose this place for our 3-night stay at Tissa. I will not write much about the place, the room and the facilities provided and the quality of services provided by the host; they are all better described by other guests and they are all true. I will - above all - point out the amazing care dedicated by the host and his wife in order to serve us the best quality of ingredients and prepared the finest dishes of Sri Lankan cuisine! That was the only place of all Sri Lanka over a 3+ week period where we had the chance (and the luck) to taste authentic local food - and it was amazing! Don't miss this opportunity and book your dinner (half-board) with them... you won't regret it!

Activities such as hiking, snorkelling, cycling can be enjoyed in the surroundings, and guests can relax along the beachfront. I would give more than 10 if I could. One of the nicest places I have ever stayed in. Perfect if you just want beach, pool, nice food, nature, and calm. There is also quite a decent amount of activities you can do around there, Kayaking, Biking, Birdwatching, Turtlewatching etc. We were here in July, had 0 rain and lots of privacy. Ananya offers you all the amazing services of a resort without making you feel like you are in one. The menu is very versatile and the prices are super fair. The Sri Lankan Dishes are amazing, also dont miss out on the Sri Lankan breakfast (hoppers, string hoppers, etc.)
