The Funny Lion is an amazing hotel with great facilities, good food and probably the best staff in El Nido. We cannot recommend this place enough if you are staying in El Nido. It is impossible not to feel like at home with the service you get at this accommodation.

Keep in mind that a 4- or 5-star hotel in the Philippines are somewhat lower. This surprised us in many aspects. The best? 1) That the location is outside the center of El Nido in an authentic community 2) The food. I was afraid that I have read that the food is great but is of exact amount. We do not agree with those comments. It is true that it is designed for appetizer, main course and dessert. I believe that the owners are Spanish and Filipino that's why the proportion of the food is according to these cultures. They cook with good water and olive oil and the dishes do not exceed 10$ and it is super quality. We have enjoyed the food and repeated several dishes and wines. 3) The natural environment where you feel really connected with. 4) The private tours crafted just for you 5) Massages are exceptional 6) Game areas and pool offers enjoyment It is a place for the lovers of nature, books and exclusive services. A 10 to staff. We will be back for sure. They only have 7 cottages and as much as we want to stay for another couple of nights, sadly we can't because they are fully booked.

Breakfast is available, and includes continental, American and Asian options. The place is unique, the villas are beautiful and the view from the terrace amazing. The pool is great and the food in the restaurant delicious and has reasonable prices. The staff was very nice and helpful, very responsive via what’s up.

Guests may also rejuvenate with a pampering massage or wellness treatment at Cauayan Spa. The property at Cauayan was absolutely stunning. The facilities were pristine and the staff was so kind and helpful throughout my entire stay.

The WOW-factor is at 10 because we felt soooo taken cared of from pick up at airport - with special VIP lounge to the warm welcome with songs and snacks , to the very personal greetings of their staff all up to the end - EXCELLENT SERVICE WAS CONSISTENT! Paying full board is so well worth it since it includes all the excursions in the big and small lagoons among others. THE SNORKLING AREA BY MINILOC'S IS D'BEST! We will definitley come back! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!

The resort also has an outdoor pool, a spa and a library. My friend and I spent 4 nights at Lagen. The full experience was great from airport pick up (dedicated counter at airport) to the transfer to the island. The property has a great location; the rooms are well kept, the activities, the food, drinks but most of all the staff absolutely the best. One day we went to the big lagoon, we kayaked out way back to the boat, there were a few other boats, it was windy and there was current, somehow our kayak ended up under the proa of the hotel boat and with the waves we were afraid it would hit us in the head, another boat passed by so close and made more waves which made the situation more difficult, our Lagen guide didn’t hesitate to throw himself to the water to help us! we tried to find him later but this was the day before we checked out. Will anyone in the hotel help us find him? my friend and I are avid travelers, I live in UAE where hospitality has a high standard and to me El Nido Lagen is one of the best hotel I’ve stayed in my whole life! loved everyday of my holiday

Great location (not at the centre, which made it very quiet), and it had transfers to and from the city centre and Lio beach. The staff goes out of their way to make your stay enjoyable and they are always with a smile on their faces. From our whole trip, this was our favourite hotel.
