The location close to the railway station 15 minute walk was superb and close to via Cortas where the bus to Monte Cassino monastery goes at 12.30. The night porter gave us a key to get in the main door so we could come and go as we please. Cafe Marconi opposite was great for popping into as well.

The hotel is close to the highway. They accommodated us after midnight. Very nice gentleman at the front desk even though we arrived at 00:30 in the morning.

Excellent choice, especially if you want to immerse yourself in the war events that took place here in WW2. Very kind and caring treatment by the owner. He gave me very important instructions to take the bus to the abbey that leaves from Piazza S. Benedetto, (at 09:55 h), without which I would probably have had to take a taxi. Very careful decoration, with museum pieces and photographs that refer to the battle.

We were pleasantly surprised to find our room so spacious. It was clean and was tidied and cleaned every day. We found our stay very comfortable. The breakfast had plenty on offer. The location of the hotel was good. the bus stop to Cassino was right outside and the walk to the centre was about 15 minutes. We are very grateful to Claudia and Achille for all their help. We will be back again.

Once a wool factory, Il Cavalier D'Arpino dates back to the 16th century. It is now a charming hotel with a spacious garden and wonderful views across the valley.

Our culinary detour in Arpino, mid-way from Rome to Puglia, was nothing short of delightful. The hotel's friendly staff, led by a knowledgeable owner, instantly made us feel welcomed. Nestled in the heart of Arpino, the hotel featured a tranquil garden and a prime location. The owner shared local insights of where to go and arranged a contact to a nearby farm for us, which we visited for a tour and some antipasti with a touch of authenticity. Our room was spacious and clean with a good AC. The windows offered a view of the garden and were equipped with effective blackout blinds for a peaceful morning rest. The hotel's ample parking space was a bonus, allowing us come and go by car as we pleased.

This historic home is a beautiful place to stay in San Donato! Roberta and her best friend Bartolomeo took very good care of us! The restaurant serves a very nice dinner and breakfast. Looking forward to visiting again soon!
