This was a beautiful way to start our month in Japan. The kaiseki dinner and the breakfast were both delicious. The onsen was gorgeous overlooking the lake. You could also refill your water bottles from water directly from the lake in the lobby. There is a cute gift shop with plenty of shimaenaga merchandise.

It has a restaurant that close at 12am!!! Good for supper or like us arrive into hotel late at night. Onsen is great and has tight security to ensure the ladies are look after at onsen.

The location was not the most convenient place but they offered some taxi vouchers, there was quite premium breakfast bento box arrangement, laundry facilities etc. You forget you are far from the town. Super comfortable spacious room. There is an amazing garden in front of it. I’m more than happy to go back if there is another opportunity.

    Does what it says on the tin - comfortable budget hotel. Staff great - very friendly and pleasant and was great to have luggage that I dropped off early in my room on check-in. Also the shuttle service is a big plus, would recommend to those with an early flight.
