The Manor Parc Hotel has a quiet location, within easy reach of the motorway and the city. Very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and treated me like a friend. Breakfast was great and the decor was lovely.

With the majestic mountains of Cader Idris reflected in its waters, Tal-y-Llyn Lake is more than a scenic asset; the hotel owns the lake, which is noted for its superb fishing. Tynycornel was a well-known fishing hostelry as early as 1800 and guests enjoy priority access to Tal-y-Llyn's prized waters, together with fine river fishing. The location of the hotel was amazing, so picturesque. There are hiking trails close by or if you wish to be more laid back you can chill by the lake or in the community area of the hotel. I wish we stayed longer.

For the first time in my life I arrived at a hotel, recommended by a doctor by email to seek an urgent examination at a hospital. After five minutes at Spilman, I walked to the Carmarthen general hospital, arriving there at 16:40 on 12 June. I eventually returned to the hotel by taxi at 02:30 a.m the following morning. My room became a cosy home for the rest of my stay. The weather was disappointing, and my initial plans for sightseeing had to be modified, but because of the atmosphere at the Spilman, I will always retain happy memories of Carmarthen. My chances of returning to Wales are not high, but Spilman would be at the top of my priorities if I did.

If you would like to discover the area, cycling, fishing and canoeing are possible in the surroundings. Glanllifon is an exceptional B&B. It is located directly on the coast, just a few steps from the sea. The hosts are, typically Welsh, extremely friendly and welcoming. My room was utterly lovely, impeccably clean and the bed absolutely comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to perfection, served with a smile and a nice little chat. Highly recommended! 11 out of 10 stars!
