Guest room and cottage accommodation with a private bathroom and shower is offered at Hotel Hallormsstadur. Nice rooms and location. The staff were friendly and breakfast was good. Plenty of choice and tasty. Location was beautiful and was good for watching the northern lights.

Egilsstaðir Airport is 35 km away. A cute hotel in a little village. We had an awesome stay and the people working there were really friendly. We had a laugh with the girl at the reception and she helped us figure out what we could do around the village. She was really helpful. There was also a cafe on the other side of the road which was owned by the people of the hotel, so we spent the evenings there. It had a nice vibe. Near the cafe was a guesthouse (Taergesen) also owned by them. The girl from the reception gave us a tour of the guesthouse and it was really cosy and sweet. Next time we might try that :) Finally there was breakfast included in the hotel and we had a big choice of food. We could eat as much as we wanted, so everyday we started with a good meal. Our stay was Austur in Reydarfjordur was one of our favourites. Such another life than the one we are used to. Felt like you were in another world.
