Absolutely fabulous - all top notch from the secure parking and great garden to the huge house. Everything you needed for a relaxing break in a place you would love to live in. The bedrooms are all huge with en-suite bathrooms, an outdoor bbq on the patio and an indoor bbq in the second kitchen downstairs, the gas-fired paella pan was great fun as well as the pizza oven. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you needed and our hosts had kindly left us a bottle of wine along with coffee pods for the machine and jams and honey for breakfast. We were met at the property by our hosts who kindly showed us everything that the villa had to offer, which is extensive! Really dog friendly. Loved it - wished we had booked two weeks.

Super attentive and most welcoming host. Excellent clear communications prior to arrival. We were met very promptly in the public parking area nearby and helped down some cobbled slopes and steps with our luggage. We loved the two-bedroom casa - previously a restaurant with the large origingal fittings in the kitchen still in place. Rustic style spacious and very comfortable dining room/sitting room. Outside terras with seating area and table and chairs and extensive views over the hills - super relaxing, super-clean and very comfortable. Comfortable beds, quality bedding. Felt we could live here forever ; ) Certainly fell in love with this small medieval hilltop town and its steep narrow streets and steps and imposing fortified church. Enjoyed strolling around and met some very friendly local inhabitants. A very quiet village ... after the Sunday visitors have returned home. Enjoyed a good Sunday Lunch in nearby restaurant with quality local produce and recipes.

The house is beautiful, made in a traditional stone style that kept out the heat in the middle of the day, and very clean, comfortable and spacious. Unai is a great host, quick to respond to any messages and very thoughtful not to disturb e.g. when he needed to water the garden he checked in first. A generous helping of kitchen goods e.g. oil, pepper, coffee was provided. The location suited our needs perfectly, on the outskirts of a small collection of houses and it was very peaceful but near enough to pop to the local supermarket and into Pamplona city. The latter offered a good contrast to all our nature walks, runs and wild swims. The tall trees in the garden gave lots of shade, the tennis table, hammock, swing, outdoor eating area and barbecue were all well used (our teen children were too big to use the trampoline). And our dog loved it! Thank you Unai we would highly recommend Mertxenea as an excellent place to stay.

Very spatious and nicely renovated house. We like the patio. 10 minutes walking distance from the city center, where you have a very good panaderia. Joana, the owner, is very attentive and very nice and gave us plenty of tips of places to visit. The kids really liked the refreshing jump from the Arbayun bridge :-)
