The air conditioning worked really well and the location is great; as it is not in the middle of the downtown hustle and bustle. Very close to the national park - we biked there three times! Nice restaurant - Reggae’s - very close. Easy access to stretch of black sand beach that was not full of tourists. We spotted all kinds of tropical birds in the property and a sloth right across the street.

The host, Monica, was very helpful and even arranged a dentist appointment for us when my wife broke a tooth. The great thing is the location, right on the edge of the national park and less than a 5 minute walk into Cahuita. We were lucky to see 15-20 howler monkeys in the garden as well as capuchin monkeys and an agouti. We actually saw more wildlife while chilling out at the property than we saw in the national park.

Everything was perfect, A fully equipped house placed in a safe and secluded area, with wild animals in the backyard. What not to like?

It is a quiet place in the jungle, where you will see (and hear :-) ) a lot of monkeys, butterflies and other animals. Perfect for relaxing, reading outside at the porch or by a small stream that is located directly beside the property. There, you can also eat breakfast, if you like. José cooks everything from scratch in his kitchen outside and it will keep you full for a long time. He can also help with recommendations on where to go or other suggestions. The home we stayed in was super clean and it was even decorated with fresh flowers. You will need a car but then it's maybe a 5-10min drive to Cahuita and about 15min to Puerto Viejo, so you have a wide range of beaches and restaurants to explore. We would highly recommend this place, if you are looking for a place to connect to nature, slow down and still feel at home.

Situated in Cahuita, LaLola Villa Privada features accommodation with private pool, free WiFi and free private parking for guests who drive. This recently renovated villa is located 700 metres from Negra and 22 km from Jaguar Rescue Center. The locaton was perfect and the house itself was amazing! We stayed in the Gata room, the other two rooms looked just as amazing with two queen size beds which were very comfortable. The outside kitchen and pool area was tastfully decorated and fully equipped with everything you need if you want to prepare a large dinner or party. The pool was clean and water clear and perfect temperature. And the nature, wow! Woke up to howler monkeys every morning and the variety of birds was entertaining as well as other jungle animals, iguanas, etc.
