We literally traveled from the United States to specifically stay at this hotel. We are doing a two week Harry Potter trip with our children throughout Scotland and England and we’re specifically looking for a Harry Potter themed hotel. It did not disappoint. Harry Potter details EVERYWHERE. Magic EVERYWHERE. Staff- beyond kind. If you love Harry Potter you MUST stay here. Breakfast was large and delicious. We also ate dinner there both nights- fabulous. Drinks- super yum. Please note that both the chateaubriand dish and the T-bone steak dish is enough for at LEAST three people. Also, hotel is unmarked- the entrance is at the bottom of the hill, next to the ice cream shop, through the door to the “Dirty Bottle” bar. It’s located about 500 yards from Alnwick Castle- also a must do, just get tickets in advance (see pics of broom flying class- you can also make tile, soap, play medieval games- So fun!!). What a gem in Alnwick! The room was lovely and comfortable with coffee and tea for use, and a towel warming rack. Audrey and Tom are personal, warm and caring hosts. The breakfast was exceptionally good.

The location is great, out in the countryside and so peaceful!! Our host Fiona really took time out to make us welcome and even provided a high tea when we arrived. Breakfast was all we could expect and the room also has a great view across the countryside. Our bedroom was well appointed and the bed itself was great. As a result, we had the best nights sleep for days.

I have a thing of requesting Nicolas cage at every hotel I stay at, and the staff did a fantastic job of providing me with all the cage I could ever need - and they looked like they enjoyed it too. A hotel that enjoys doing that is truly one worth going to - loved everything about it!!

The location was perfect, just a short walk away from a variety of restaurants and attractions. The extra touches in the room were great. A wide range of tea, coffee and snacks available, and the host was very friendly and helpful when asked about restaurant options close by. I would highly recommend staying here for a weekend break.

The hosts were so friendly and welcoming. The accommodation was comfortable, spotlessly clean and thoughtfully done with extras such as dressing gowns and all bathroom toiletries. Location perfect for the town and the castle so car not required unless wanting to go further out. Lovely cooked breakfasts although a full choice offered if cereals etc are preferred Would highly recommend
