The George is a beautiful old property with a lot of history. The pub is amazing. It has a fabulous atmosphere, and was a lovely base to spend a weekend in the Forest of Dean. The room was very comfortable and well equipped. The beams added their own charm to the room, but it was also modern and well decorated. The landlord and the manager were very welcoming, and couldn’t do enough for us. We particularly enjoyed hearing about the history of the pub. We didn’t get the chance to eat at the pub, because we were going out with friends, but the food looked amazing. We will have to return to try it in the near future.

The room was lovely, very clean. The bed was very comfortable. There’s a kettle with tea or coffee which was great for the morning. The bathroom has a bath with nice hot water. The breakfast is cooked fresh. Staff are lovely. I really really recommend.

Wow what a blast out of the past this hotel was great. It really was something special out in the middle of a little town. The decommissioned nuclear plant is one thing. The town is great and this location was very special. Over 200 years old and the owner Wendy was fantastic. Pub was perfect and the food was fantastic.
