The staff were excellent and helpful. The complimentary English breakfast was fantastic. After checking out at 11 am, they kindly agreed to store my luggage until the evening, allowing for a hassle-free tour of the beach.

We really enjoyed our stay, a great location with a beautiful view and a short walking distance to the actual beach. Landlady very helpful!
We came by car, so much easier to find the place I think.

Deal is a charming, slightly decrepit town. It has some beautiful old lanes and houses. Very historic. Huge beach. Lots of coffee shops. Lots of individual interesting shops but needs investment to come to life. Shops and bars are mostly only open Thursday to Sunday. It has an abandoned feeling during the week. We really loved the fish and chips! There’s an amazing fish monger close to the town hall. It’s got a lot going for it but it’s not Salcombe or Southwold! It’s easy to get there on the train from St. Pancras station in central London. There are many holiday cottages. We saw people swimming in the sea in the morning. Cycling along the shore is popular and you can go for miles. There are things to do there. It’s got great possibilities. We really liked it.

I loved the people in this place so helpful and friendly, Recommend two cafes for a fantastic breakfast, The Kings Coffee and The Hog and Bean.
There are lots of charity shops and quirky shops to look around and a very popular bakery. On a Saturday there is a market. There is also a castle but unfortunately we didn't get round to visiting.

Very pretty seaside town; easy to explore on foot.
Very pretty seaside town; easy to explore on foot. Lots of independent shops, but there are two big supermarkets too. Lots of cafes! Interesting history very well described on clear tourist information boards along the seafront. Beware midweek in low season as most of the museums and both the castles are only open at weekends. That said, the coastal path is delightful and I spent my time (two weekdays in November) happily walking by the sea even though the attractions weren't open. Excellent public library with good local history section too.

Great place to stay.
We really enjoyed having walks along the seafront and along the pier.
Seafront pubs are great. Visit the Port Arms and Kings Head.
The August Bank Holiday Weekend Food & Drink Festival was a great place to listen to the live music and have a relaxing arvo.
Good Chinese, and Indian takeaways plus Fish & Chips near the seafront.
Easy trip to Sandwich Bay for low tide walks to check out the shipwrecks and B17 bomber remains.

hard to find if you didn’t get there early enough. Still has lots of lovely pubs on the front fish and chips seafood stall and lots of little shops . We felt safe walking around at night it was lovely and peaceful. Nearly forgot there’s a big church which does a lovely breakfast and looks like lovely food also for lunch and there’s a little club or pub sitting on the side of it looks like they’ve made good use of a What looks like a church and a market on a Saturday to walk around.
Glebe House Hotel was very homely, beautifully kept and clean. The owners Phyl and Al were exceptional hosts who were always available should you have any queries or requests. Although a little out of Deal the walk from the Hotel was around 30 minutes, walking mostly along the seafront, which suited us. Deal is a lively little town with many good coffee shops and eateries. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Glebe House and will happily re book this Hotel if we return to the area.
The hotel is superbly located on the beach at Deal. Our room (The Nelson) had a beautiful covered terrace with views out onto the beach and the English Channel. There was a heater on the terrace which allowed us to enjoy it despite the rather cool and wet weather. On the final day we had breakfast out on the terrace. The room was large and well appointed with plenty of storage and good lighting. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
It was a surprise to us after booking one of their cheapest rooms, that is was very spacious and well provisioned AND very comfortable. And another surprise was that breakfast (and a very tasty one at that) was included.
The location could not be better as it is right by the pier in Deal - which was where we went for a lobster special evening. However in passing the dinner in the hotel looked good so we will probably eat in next trip.
We like everything about The Plough. We have stayed there 4 times, and will definitely stay there again. The rooms are great, and have just been updated to a good standard. The staff are friendly, nothing too much trouble. The location is great for getting around Kent, and just a short ride into Deal. They are very Covid aware. We had an excellent, and safe holiday.
We stayed in the Wellington room which was spacious and had a lovely private balcony overlooking the beach. The bed was very comfortable and everything was spotless. We were delighted with the room. The hotel is well positioned for exploring Georgian Deal and the lovely little streets behind the hotel. An excellent experience.
really enjoyed our stay it was perfect plenty of room. very friendly couple can’t do enough for you, a great location. parking right behind hotel. oh and those views from the room superb. definately returning to this hotel. and first time in deal, absolutely charming area and people.
Very impressed with the Bathroom with Bath And Shower, Very Comfy Bed, Breakfast was Great with Great Sausages And Especially They Had MARMITE ,I've just come back from a tour in Scotland and stayed at 5 Hotels and no Marmite to be seen so a Big plus to You
Great location for a getaway by the coast or to stay locally to Dover. It was definitely good value for money in comparison to the surrounding areas and ideal for one night. The breakfast included was pleasant enough and staff were friendly.
Room was very clean and comfortable. Facilities were okay, too. Very much what |I would expect for a modern hotel at that price. Would no doubt be fine, if you stayed out late, or joined the crowd at the bar!
Glebe House is a beautiful house in a perfect location for exploring Walmer & Deal and the beautiful coast. Great local coastal walks. Historic Deal, quaint little streets with range of independent shops.
there was a definite “beach” charm. most all amenities were provided with some nice extra touches. was hoping for some water view, it a short walk away to enjoy the beauty and charm of the Deal coast.
Apartment was very clean and well equipped. Nice they provide tea/coffee/biscuits. Good location for visiting the Kent coast - Deal, St Margaret’s Bay, Margate, Broadstairs, whitstable etc.
Loved the location. My husband ad I walked along the water for a long way in the late evening. Hotel has great curb appeal with the beautiful flowers and outdoor tables
