We had a lovely suite. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was excellent. Bathroom very clean.
Lots of seating areas in the foyer and bar area.
The food was delicious, good choice of wines and spirits. Some lovely cocktails I'd never had anywhere else. It was really wild weather but we were cosy inside. Enjoyed watching the wild waves and the hardy golfers attempting a round.

the owner is fantastic! The house is a marvel. And despite our needing to leave super-early (before breakfast) she showed us where we could help ourselves to toast, cereal, etc.
The property is around a 2-minute walk from Carnegie Club Skibo Castle, 400 yards from Royal Dornoch Golf Club, and 13 miles from Dunrobin Castle.

A very clean and comfortable flat in a convenient location -in the center of town - walkable to local pubs and shops. The kitchen was stocked with coffee and tea - plenty of room for two here!

Dornoch is such a wonderful town.
Dornoch is such a wonderful town. I was amazed by the architecture from various periods but the Georgian and Edwardian stood out and looked stunning in red sandstone! The castle hotel bar is a must see, also the cathedral where Madonna got married to Guy Ritchie and also Elon Musk got married there too! The beech walks and also the Golf course, rated as the number 1 golf course in Scotland (I spoke to golfers at this festival who gave me their honest opinions) with a links style supposedly better than St Andrews! Although I was there for the local whisky festival, the people were so pleasant and made you feel so welcome and the hotel/ pubs were outstanding with the accompanying food menu's were superb.

Pretty town with a lovely long sandy beach.
Pretty town with a lovely long sandy beach. The Museum and Heritage Trail are very interesting and well worth the time. The cathedral is worth a visit and there are some interesting shops to explore. And we noticed an electric car charging point! We only stayed one night but it would have been better to have stayed for two as we didn't have enough time to visit all the attractions.

Dornoch is a lovely small town/large village with a number of interesting buildings, an ancient Cathedral, a magnificent beach, an interesting Museum, a range of shops, hotels, pubs and restaurants. It is also close to Golspie and the nearby Dunrobin Castle.
I am not a golfer but for golfers it is a paradise.
Unfortunately, on this occasion time pressures precluded a longer stay but it is a destination which I know quite well and would have no hesitation in recommending a visit to visitors to the area.
Dee and Nigel are the perfect hosts. They were so friendly, helpful and attentive. The house was exceptionally clean and tidy. The room and bathroom were just as good. Plus the fact that we had a beautiful view over the Dornoch firth. The breakfast was definitely the best we had during our 10 days in Scotland. Fresh eggs from the hens. Everything was perfect. Dee and Nigel definitely desererve the awards they have received. Lovely dogs too!
Lovely cottage with everything you could need. Kim provided some local produce for breakfast which was very thoughtful (and delicious). You can tell that Kim has put a lot of thought and care into the place and that translates into a great experience, no cheap old dodgy pans or blunt bread knives here but high quality amenities. Highly recommend if you're looking to stay in Dornoch.
Everything! Dee and Nigel were excellent hosts and provided us with an exceptional, friendly and welcoming service - nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful rooms with a view, very comfy beds and en suites with lots of little personal touches. Breakfast was great, very fresh and tasty. If we're ever in the area again we will definitely go back to Heartseed House (if we can get in!)
the rooms were spacious, very clean with comfy beds. the location was fantastic to get to the golf club and the town. the owners were both lovely, very welcoming and cooked a nice breakfast for us each day. we really enjoyed our stay and if we are ever staying in dornoch again we will definitely stay here again.
We liked how close to the dornoch village the pod was, very clean, very cosy. The underfloor heating is such a good touch especially for when we had been a cold walk. Great little pod that was everything we were looking for, will definitely be back in the future. Thank you so much!
The setting of the hotel was lovely. The meals were well done. Definitely take advantage of the on site restaurant as the options in the village are extremely limited. The rooms in the hotel were comfortable with the inevitable quirks you find in an older building.
Dornoch is a nice town. There are several restaurants within walking distance. The hotel bar and restaurant are nice. Don't miss the Dunrobin Castle just a few miles North. They have parking spaces in the courtyard and in front.
Convenient town center location that allows for all you need to sustain yourself before and after golf. Literally less than 400 yards from Royal Dornoch and all the food, drink, personal sundries, and sustenance you need.
The fact that it was dog friendly was really helpful, as we wanted our dog to come along and experience the NC 500 with us. It was a cute BNB, could use some updating in the rooms but it was comfortable enough.
This is a very comfortable hotel with a traditional room and very good food and drink available. The town of Dornoch is very nice with good facilities. Good views of the sea.
