I have known, and loved, Exford for more than 70 years. Hearing the clippers-clop of horses' hooves and seeing the Exmoor Stores reopened and flourishing was splendid. Church Hill still seems strep to walk up...

Did not have time to look around Exford as we only booked for one night. We were booked onto a special stargazing event, which was excellent.
However the drive over the moor from Lynton was stunning.
Exford is situated in an excellent part of the moor for exploring and Exford appeared to be a lovely village to walk around, with two pubs and village shops.
Horse riding available too.
Would reconmmend Exford for a place to stay for either a long weekend or for a week.

Exford is a beautiful, rural village in the heart of the Exmoor National Park. It has everything you need with a store/post office, two lovely pubs, a shop and a tearooms. If you want peace and quiet within a beautiful setting, Exford is beautiful
A delightful cottage full of the wonderful idiosyncrasies of the period. Scrupulous clean and very nicely decorated, our room was large and bright. A full cooked breakfast to start your day and the hostess even went the extra mile by getting black pudding in when I mentioned I liked it. A mine of information, Joan was always willing to give advice and answer our questions.
Right in the middle of Exmoor with 2 good pubs within walking distance it's an ideal place for a mid week break. We thoroughly recommend it.
Loved the location, Exford is a small village with lovely shops, tearoom and hotel. The cottage had a small enclosed garden was ideal for our little terrier. The bedroom was lovely, comfy bed with enclosed dressing area. The shower was hot. Lounge area comfortable. The kitchen was great, we cooked breakfast and ate out each evening at some good pubs within a few miles and also walkable to Exford.
We enjoyed Dunster, Minehead, Porlock, Porlock Hill & Tar Steps. Fantastic area and would highly recommend.
Stunning location with wonderful views from our spacious bedroom over the garden and rolling hills beyond. The breakfast was delicious, with perfect scrambled egg, home-made marmalade, in a lovely dining room with murals painted by an outstanding artist. We wish we could have stayed longer, so that we could explore Exmoor at leisure. As an interlude in the long journey to Cornwall, Edgcott House was perfect.
Beautifully presented with everything you need, fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. Very comfortable beds. Spacious, modern and well maintained. Beautiful vistas, terrace/ patio with modern, clean furniture. Excellent location in central Exmoor.
Definitely recommend this property.

Our hosts provided everything that we needed. Lovely accommodation in an excellent location for touring. Gerry even bought my wife and myself a drink in the local bar on the first evening. Very kind, nothing too much trouble and we had a very pleasant stay. Thank you.
Contact with the staff beforehand was good.
The room was well-equipped and quiet.
Dinner had a good selection of familiar and unusual items on the menu.
Breakfast was served in person at the table (i.e. no buffet) by the couple who own the hotel, Plenty of choice.
