The on street parking was plentiful. The pub is only a few minutes walk from the centre. The cathedral was my main focus and didn’t disappoint. The staff in the pub were extremely helpful, very impressed. You can come in and independently.

Fantastic staff who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. It was my daughter’s birthday, which they I’d briefly mentioned when booking, and they put balloons in our room and at our table at dinner. The food was delicious.

Beautiful location, central to Southwell, Newark and only half an hour from Nottingham and Sherwood Forest. So much history and character - a truly exceptional short break with something for the whole family. Lots of historical trails to enjoy, walks and cruises on the river Trent. The workhouse and its staff proved a memorable afternoon.
