This is a brilliant little place in the centre of Hereford, only 5 minutes walking from the cathedral. It's got a lovely conservatory overlooking the river where they serve lunch and breakfast (they don't do dinner, but there are lots of nice restaurants around). Breakfast was wonderful, the menu was nice and the food superb.
My room (I had a junior suite) had a beautiful view onto the river and garden and was just lovely with nice details like a basket with regional treats or sherry. The bathroom was spacious, the toiletry luxurious.
What else? Yes, they have private parking (which is free for guests) and very convenient, situated just behind the hotel.
If you can afford it... go to this place! It's worth the money!
Pilgrim Country House Hotel and Restaurant is set in 4 acres of rolling parkland with stunning views and an excellent restaurant serving local Herefordshire produce.

Good location. For the price we paid we thought it was ok.
Breakfast 'in a bag' was really good but at the point of booking we had expected a proper breakfast.

Hereford is a lovely city, very compact, many useful shops, beautiful cathedral, very very well worth visiting. Plenty of cafes and food places to eat. It is very easy to get to. We used the trains and buses to get to places such as Great Malvern with the famous lamps (Narnia, fabulous for stunning scenery) Ross on Wye (charming), Ludlow (interesting, beautiful buildings), Leominster (many antique shops). There is a Zipper bus which takes you around the town and to the train station for nothing (yes free!) People are so friendly (they say “Good morning” to you) not like London!

Hereford is a stunning county to visit. Amazing cathedral and city to visit, pedestrians only in city. Lots of cafes and places to eat. River Wye is stunning and Symmonds Yat worth a visit. Maybe you will see a Peregrin Falcon there. Lots to do. The local theatre The Courtyard always has something on. There is a fabulous Cinema as well.

So much history and wonderful, old buildings in quite a small, easily walkable area. The Black and White House and the Catholic church, were particularly interesting. The Mappa Mundi and Cathedral are obviously worth a visit.
The lack of cars in some streets was great. Far more relaxing without them.
Good choice of eateries (e.g. Ponte Vecchio, The Bookshop, All Saints cafe).
The outdoor market stalls were a delight but the indoor market needs a upgrade. Lots of potential.
There is also a nearby walk in the countryside along the river bank, via Victoria Bridge then back along the other side to the west.

Hereford is a pretty town, we went for the Cathedral and Map a Mundi. I think it would suit people who like to go for a bit of a shop and the town centre looked nice when we were walking through, little lanes, little cafes, little independent shops as well as some of the majors.
I enjoyed the Cathedral and the Black & White House Museum, the latter would also be good for children.
Close to lovely countryside and striking distance from Hay On Wye and other pretty towns to visit so a good hub place to be based.

I work in Hereford and was staying overnight because of an evening engagement with a late finish and I didn't want to drive home very late. I think Hereford is a great place to visit, especially now the electric Zipper buses have been introduced.
Surprisingly spacious terraced house 10 minutes walk from the edge of Hereford town centre - 'The Barrels' more specifically - which is a Hereford institution. Very well equipped kitchen which means self-catering is possible making this so much a better value option than a hotel. One parking permit provided for the road directly outside the house, again another benefit as central city hotels charge for parking or have none. Very clean house with comfy sofas and beds and even a terrace out the back for better weather!
The hotel had a lovely welcoming atmosphere. There are only about 6 bedrooms so everything felt very personal. Superb old building with bags of character. The picture definitely does not do it justice. Excellent freshly cooked breakfast. Owner was very friendly and helpful offering tips on where to go for dinner etc. Well placed for walking into Hereford with good parking. We also found it very convenient for travelling around the local area. Very good value for money and something a bit different.
Breakfast excellent Location ok..about 15 minutes walk into centre of Hereford...not the loveliest walk but ok.I was lucky to be in a room at the rear looking onto the garden and therefore very quiet ,in the front there is a busy road. The owner was very nice ,friendly and helpful. They produced an alternative to a duvet for me..I get too warm and dislike duvets,so good for them as hotels often can’t do this or don’t want to bother.
The location is very good, there are plenty of eatery's around. It is only a short walk into town center, where you find the butter market and down a small alley to the famous Hereford Cathedral. There are a multitude of interesting sights to visit within the town. The nightlife is vibrant if you want that.
Wonderful location, house was clean & tidy, everything worked (TV, toaster, oven, kettle, shower etc.), rooms were spotless & furniture / fittings of good quality. Not far from Hereford which is 10-15 mins away. Bunch of Carrots pub about 5 mins away by car recommended for food.
Great location. Very central to Hereford town centre and the surrounding countryside. Beautiful Georgian house decorated to a high standard. The owner was very friendly and helpful with advice. The breakfast was delicious. There was free parking in the grounds of the property.
The flat is pleasant and simply decorated
With neutrally coloured walls and wooden cladding
It provides a relaxing studio
the kitchen is well set up and well kitted out
The apartment is very convenient for access to Hereford town centre , train station and cinema
Everything was ok ,too much traffic!but we understand that everything has to come through Hereford!plenty of walks for the dog, good food.Sure it will be even better when all the staff are back
This is an old style hotel, very pleasant. It is in a great location and a great base for exploring the Marches. Right in the town centre with its own car park.
