Lodge Farm Bed & Breakfast, hotel in Hitchin

Lodge Farm Bed & Breakfast enjoys a location in Hitchin, 13 miles from Knebworth House and 15 miles from Hatfield House.

We stayed for three nights and had very good memories. The room is large and cozy, and the bed is extremely comfortable, which is very important in the rainy and humid British winter! The bathroom is super big and the supplies are very clean. The breakfast made by Bob and Caroline was thoughtful and perfect, thank you!

Hitchin is a lovely market town.

Hitchin is a lovely market town. Some of the shops have closed down since my last visit, which is a shame, but the pubs and selection of restaurants is outstanding. The atmosphere is always great in Hitchin and the people are extremely friendly.

Hitchin is a great vibrant market town with an abundance of independent places to eat and chill. There are also the major chain places to eat and drink if you are a little less adventurous. There are plenty of open spaces and playgrounds for the little ones. You can sit in the town square, relax, have a drink and watch the world go by. The locals are friendly and happy to chat and help. The train station is nearby and you can be in the centre of London in under an hour.

Based on a previous visit I loved Hitchin.

Based on a previous visit I loved Hitchin. However the weather was so hot that this time I spent most of it sitting in the dark in my friends living room trying to keep cool!! Hitchin has some lovely old buildings, a busy market, lots of places to eat and independent shops. It is within easy reach of London.

After reading the reviews during my stay, I was so glad I didn't read them before staying. Yes there is need of a lick of paint etc but it's over 300 hundred years old. If you want modern then stay at your Travelodge/ Premier Inn etc This hotel has character, it's clean and comfy and the situation is perfect, right in the middle of Hitchin. The staff are helpful and lovely and I will be returning. It was also -1° when I stayed and the hotel was lovely and warm.

It was a lovely hotel to stay and perfect for the nearby wedding we attended. The room was a little small, comfy and cosy. Loved the bathroom and shower was ace! Tea and coffee with kettle in room was a nice touch too. Definately needed first thing in the morning before breakfast. Breakfast was superb. It didn't come with booking but reasonable price.

Fantastic room. Old world charm and four poster bed were ideal for our romantic Anniversary getaway. The facade did not do the hotel justice. The restaurant area was really elegant with the main area and bar demonstrating really old world charm; low ceilings, tudor beams and old English beauty. Parking was perfect and breakfast was excellent.

That it was in a good part of Hitchin, it had free parking on the property. There was a security guard at night, so felt safe. The room was comfortable, very clean and very close to the shared bathroom. The shower was good, with small free toiletries, if you needed them. The breakfast was extremely good, with hot & cold food available.

The hotel is in one corner of the jungle very far from the town center. The room carpet had a lot of stains, bed was old and not comfortable to sleep in. the staff don't care about any feedback. The hotel is ideal for wedding guests, I would next time stay in the town center which was lovely with plenty of eating options.

The hotel is in Poor condition overall. The Bed is old and not comfortable. The shower did not work. The toilet seat was loose. Window curtains not washed for ages and had stains. The hotel is very noisy due to the bar below and drunk people everywhere. I did not feel safe. i would not stay or recommend it to anyone.

Lovely old style hotel, no razz matazz, very pleasant & cosy room with everything we needed. Staff were so helpful, made sure we were happy despite the rather gloomy weather. Breakfast was quite sufficient. We wish them well & will stay there next time we visit our Granddaughter in Hitchin.

Breakfast was delicious - prompt service and freshly made. The room was spacious enough for 3 adults and was nicely set over 2 stories. Beds were comfortable and the linen smelt lovely. On-site car park. Hotel was close to the town centre and surrounded by restaurants and bars.

Cheap option. - 1 minute walk to the Square. - Free Parking vs paid public parking (but I realised once I was there, this is only a couple mins walk away). Weighing up the pros and cons of staying at this 'hotel', I would stay elsewhere and pay for parking
