It was beautifully decorated - lots of individual style with everything you might want but not too crowded. Real character in the building, maximised by the decorative style.
It was a great location - lovely views (the A40 is in the distance but we quickly got used to that), a quiet street but super close to the town centre and all its amenities.
I'm not used to parking on a hill but even though we came at high season I was always able to drop passengers off opposite the door and then park downhill on the flat.
Plenty of kitchen equipment.
Everything very clean and very fresh.
Ross itself is full of character. I've never seen so independents. There are also plenty of lovely things to do a short drive away (I didn't check out public transport).

A good selection of independent shops and restaurants. Good views over the Wye valley and a small friendly theatre. Relatively unspoilt.

Rather disappointed.
Rather disappointed. Town looked tired and had seen better days. Difficult to walk along the river for all the bushes. Having said that, it did rain every day and nowhere looks good unless the sun shines

Lovely little town with fascinating architecture and some wonderful views over the River Wye and the valley. The locals were very welcoming. We went in to the church, and although a service was just about to start the vicar went out of his way to make us welcome.
Two things stand out, the exceptional food - both evening meals and breakfast and the friendly, professional service. Perhaps the owners would disagree, but I would call this a "restaurant with rooms" since dining is the centerpiece of staying here. The rooms are clean, but small, but fine for a short stay of one or two nights. The hotel is a short drive from Ross on Wye town center or a 15 minute walk mostly by the river.
Fabulous old farmhouse to stay in Sheila an Guy have done a fabulous job at renovating
Excellent hosts a really enjoyable breakfast and comfortable rooms
The management of Covid precautions was extremely good and you felt safe at all times
Not too far from Ross town centre for something to eat in the evening
Highly recommended in a lovely location
Breakfast, Varied choices of food and and well cooked. Intolerance catered for.
Comfortable bed and room with a view.
Hosts had installed a car charger which was a bonus to us.
Friendly and attentive Hosts but not intrusive.
Access to town centre, easy stroll of about 15 minutes along the river.
Comfortable lounge area with an honesty bar.
Orles Barn is an exceptional hotel. Roxy and Matt are the nicest, kindest people you will ever meet. The food (Matt is the chef) is quite simply the best I've tasted in any hotel anywhere! You will be treated like royalty at the hands of Roxy, who is such a warm and genuine person. I LOVE staying here and cannot recommend Orles Barn highly enough.
Accommodation was fine, just what we were expecting. Would have liked to know about the road closure, all the signs were saying business open as usual, not knowing where the hotel was compared to the road closure, we had a very disgruntled local saying we shouldn't be at the closure. The detour was not good for a small sports car.
The location was perfect for exploring Symonds Yat, Ross on Wye, Forest of Dean and surrounding area. The cottage was a very comfortable, relaxing retreat, exceptionally dog friendly. The artwork and sculptures at the Gallery are wonderful as is the hot chocolate and lemon drizzle cake.
Had a lovely overnight stay here. The hotel is in the perfect location for exploring Ross On Wye and rooms are clean and the bed was very comfortable. Good choice of breakfast and the full English and veggie breakfasts were delicious. We would definitely stay here again.
We arrived late-2 a.m.- after reception had closed. We were to gain access to the room late on-very clean and well made up-A row of rooms opposite to main hotel across the car park. Breakfast in the morning was a very good full English breakfast
Breakfast was excellent felt sorry for the staff having to run up and down stairs serving food. Location was very good as the town 300 yards away just as it was uphill from hotel other than that position great also over looking the river.
The hotel is dog friendly We had the family room and it is very spacious tea coffee and ground coffee with a cafetiere,,the food is very good as is the breakfast, the sausage's are absolutely delicious
Warm and friendly welcome. Our room was spacious and clean. And, the breakfast in the morning was very good. We enjoyed the 15 minute walk to the town centre. All in all, a very enjoyable stay.
Very old building. Has its charm. Clean, comfortable bed, friendly staff, nice bar. On site parking area, but you will need good driving skills to get inside, very tight entrance.
Very welcoming hosts, beautifully decorated rooms. A lovely location overlooking the river. A delicious breakfast too with lots of lovely little touches throughout the hotel.
