Lovely staff. Nice breakfast. Pretty location. Very comfy bed! Plenty of parking. Lovely grounds. We booked a stay at a fantastic rate on booking.com so value for money was good for us, but I am glad we didn't pay full price.

The apartment was fantastic. It was so nice to arrive to such a lovely, clean, comfy apartment, we wish we could have stayed for longer. Fantastic cottage in the heart of Shepton Mallet. Great owners who are really friendly and make everything easy. Cottage is well equipped and everything you need is in place for a relaxing break. Easy parking and great to have separate entrance to get to cottage. Just a shame the weather was a bit too wet to be able to be outside in the terrace area.

This was our second stay at this lovely B&B, and it was just as good as our first. Everything - from the beautiful garden, to the well-equipped rooms, to the delicious breakfast - was fantastic. The owner is friendly and helpful, he's very knowledgeable about the local area and happy to recommend places to eat and visit.

Tanya and Robert were perfect hosts. Nothing was too much bother for them whether it was breakfast requests, extra milk in our room or advice on sights to see or where to eat.
Our room was spotless and very comfortable. A lovely outdoor was available to sit and enjoy the sunshine. Good location.
Loved their super friendly cats.

Tired old hotel with rooms with peeling paint, broken cupboards and windows and dirty curtains. Had to go up 4 flights of stairs to get to attic room that was being used by the construction staff renovating the spa. Food was limited choice and of porr quality for the money that was being asked and charged. No phone in the room so had to climb up and down 4 flights of stairs to get any service. Issues not addressed and had to check out early, extremely poor hospitality. Do not tale bookings if you cannot provide a basic level of service.

Shelton Mallet seems to be a good representation of smaller, rural communities in Southern England. Beautiful surrounding countryside and closeness to some additional cities of interest such as Wells and Glastonbury. Several good restaurants were recommended by the owners of the inn. Roads in the town can be a bit tight.

It is in a good spot for touring around Dorset etc. Very quiet little town with not much to do. There is a Greek restaurant and a cafe that opens during the day. The Swan is one of the nicest pubs.

The Bath and West ground is literally just a mile away. Local facilities for shopping are also close by. If the weather is good there are beautiful walks and things to do. Where this is, you would definitely need a car to make the most of the surrounding area.

Everything!! The owner, Tony, was amazing. He ran the hotel, the bar & cooked the most amazing food.
The hotel is around 400 years old & remains quaint with updated features.
The room (4) was lovely, huge comfortable bed, massive bathroom with large bath. Also attached was a smaller room with 2 single beds as a family room.
We ate in for dinner. Tony cooked dinner to die for. The bar/restaurant area was cosy with an open log fire.
Breakfast was cooked to order & again was excellent.
We will be back
This holiday home was really fun and uniquely decorated with 1950s furniture and Nik Naks. It was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfy and the towels were fluffy. It was perfectly situated for a night at Shepton Mallet Prison as well as exploring nearby Wells and Cheddar Gorge. The hosts Trev and Christine were so lovely. We broke down on our way to the property. Not only did they check on us, to make sure we were ok, because we missed our check in but they extended our stay in beautiful Somerset.
We booked a B & B for our first visit to Shepton Mallet but what we found on arrival far, far exceeded expectations! The room was huge and beautifully furnished in keeping with the lovely old building, and had every facility you would expect in a 5* hotel. The bed was comfortable, the towels plenty big enough and breakfast was superb. Throw in friendly and helpful owners for the perfect stay.
A lovely period cottage with many homely touches. Perfect for a family of 4 with a lovely well kept cottage garden at the back. Well stocked Co-op across the road and a great pub The Bell Inn a short walk away. Perfect location for exploring Somerset with Wells, Cheddar Gorge, Bath, Bristol and more in striking distance. A very comfortable stay with lovely helpful hosts.
An exceptional place to stay. Alan the owner was friendly and helpful at all times, and he cooked a superb breakfast, catering well for vegetarians!
We had the Garden Room which was lovely, spacious and well equipped.
The house is well located, Shepton Mallet being just a few minutes walk away.
We could not fault this place, it is highly recommended.
This house is huge the pictures don't give it justification. The kitchen and dinning area is ideal it can accommodate plenty of guests. The property owners live at number 1 which is normally off putting but the was very accommodating and only intervened to offer something or Cater for us. I would definitely recommend we had a amazing weekend
We had a friendly welcome when we arrived and were shown to our room. The room was small but ok for a one night stay. The shower room was larger than expected. Evening meal was delicious and breakfast was good. The bar area is nicely renovated with the well situated in the middle. (Covered in perspex so is totally safe to walk on :))
It was beautiful, lots of character and the hosts were fantastic.
I had to be at Shepton Mallet Treatment centre at 6.00am for a knee replacement surgery, and the host drove me as it was only 3 minutes away.
my husband stayed for 2 nights and said he enjoyed his stay and breakfast each morning
Second stay at this quirky apartment in historic mediaeval centre of Shepton Mallet. Well appointed and furnished, with nice rooms. Great to have a parking space reserved close by. Close to great cafes Cheeky Bean and Sweet 11.
The Location was ok, not as close to Shepton Mallet as though but what it lacked in location it made up for in everything else, comfort, service, food and an excellent breakfast,
despite the location we would stay again
Both my evening meal and breakfast were delicious. Wayne went out of his way pre-visit and during my stay to make me feel welcome. Will definitely stay here again if business brings me into this area of the UK.
The hotel was lovely very relaxing feel to it possible some music for atmosphere may have been nice but could be down to licence. Room was lovely better than expected with a nice patio area.
The apartment was very well designed for the space and was extremely well furnished and equipped. The courtyard was full of wonderful plants and the hosts 8were gracious and helpful
Everything! Quiet, relaxing location with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. Immaculate inside and all the home comforts you need, including a wonderful Aga!
