The Inn was aout 5 minutes to the airport, taking their "secret" and scenic back way. Check-in was a wonderful and personal, as the owner just happened by at the right time. The room was big, with a sitting area, a small table and stools, and a tea area, fully stocked.

Beautiful lodging that is comfortably furnished, and a well stocked kitchen with several drinks and snacks. The location is very convenient to Stansted airport, only about 5 minutes away by car. Our host was friendly and helpful.

It was very convenient to have self-checkin at a location so close to the airport. The hosts were easy to contact, and they did their best to make our stay pleasant.

Very close to Stansted Airport. Great price to be fair. Across the road from the bus stop but buses don't run very well on Sundays so be careful you research that. In fairness we had an early flight and opened the front door, walked to the bus stop in ten seconds, which arrived at 3.43 am exactly. Good stay! Cheap and cheerful but has everything you will need.

The breakfast was very good. The bed was super comfortable. There was a possibility to make coffee and tea in the room. The curtains darkened the room.

I was DISGUSTED to find out that my cousin, who drove 5 hours to drop us off at Takeley, was fined 100 pounds for "So Called Parking" at the hotel. He stayed long enough to stretch his legs and plan his trip back home. He was there a maximum of 5 to 10 minutes. This IS NOT how you treat guests who are dropped off. What was he supposed to do PARK IN THE STREET!!!! I Apart from things not working In our first room and we had to be changed, then we find out about this BS fine. There was no mention of parking fines on booking.com. I would NOT recommend this hotel and its money making scheme to anyone. You would NEVER be treated like this in Australia. We welcome tourists not fine their drivers. Extremely disappointed !!!! When someone goes out of their way to make sure we arrived safely and then are treated like this it makes me sick.

Very reasonable price for overnight stay and car parking.
Very reasonable price for overnight stay and car parking. Excellent location with a bus stop across the road, for the short trip to the airport. Worth noting if you have a late return flight the last bus is 23.15 so be prepared to get a taxi back. Not our first stay so was aware of the Four Ashes pub across the road that served good food. Unfortunatley we didn't realise they close on Sunday evening so need to arrive before 6 pm if you want food in there. Fortunately there was a list to other food options in the room and a short drive away there is a Tesco Express and an Italian takeaway. Caretaker very pleasant and checked out we had everything we needed for our overnight stay.

Avoid if you value your health and safety.
Avoid if you value your health and safety. This property is being mis sold. It doesn't even have fully functioning electric, no fridge, black mould, disgusting shower heads, filthy. Avoid had no electric to charge phone or for medical equipment. Place is a death trap. They have no idea about disability access, you can't even get in the rooms with a wheelchair never mind get into bed or use the shower and toilet

Nobody there to let us in, customer service rubbish kept saying someone would be here in 5 minutes and waited an hour. Temperature had dropped, freezing cold. Being disabled made it worse. Phone numbers nonexistent. Taxi on site says £12.50 it cost us £25 each way and still waiting on refund. Number given was for another hotel out of the area, customer service said they contacted hotel and we would get an answer in 24 hours. They also said sorry for your trouble and when you find another hotel they will try and refund the difference. We were out of pocket in the middle of nowhere how the he'll was we supposed to do that. Absolutely diabolical, steer well clear, we think they overbooked as they said door should be open with keys in. We tried all rooms and guess what they were all locked. Had to sleep on airport floor for over 3 hours waiting for the first train, we were treated discustingly
Great hotel but not ideal for early morning departures (6am) because its impossible to get a taxi, I walked 3 miles as I could not get one. I passed a couple at a similarly located hotel with large bags and they were stranded. Otherwise it is ideal. There is even a buss 133 you can take in the day time. So only pass if you have a very early morning flight. Owner was great as I had access issues which he solved well after working hours.
We loved our stay at this cosy and friendly hotel and it was perfectly located near Stansted Airport. Julie and Doug are both so kind and the attention to detail in the rooms and the breakfast display was exceptional. We were especially appreciative of how flexible they both were in allowing us to check in later than we had initially expected. We would definitely stay again!
The bus stop opposite the hotel is a plus. Bus to the airport takes 5min. But at night the bus doesn't go often. You can walk in 30min but the road is uncomfortable especially near to the airport, you have to run across a motorway. The room was quite clean but old and we got only one towel for two of us.
Everything!! Very welcoming and friendly; bed comfortable and nice shower; self service breakfast buffet with various types of bread, waffles, ryvita, etc. Fresh fruit, selection of yoghurts, large variety of teas and coffee, nice cereals, cheese, ham. It took about 8min to drive to Stansted.
The perfect stay before an early trip to the airport. We will always use this annexe over an airport hotel next time we are due to fly. The host is so helpful and accommodating and the little touches were unexpected and very gratefully received!
The quirkiness of this hotel and the trouble and value it put into making this people welcome and at home. I would totally recommend this hotel for people having to stay in Stansted as a stop over for an early morning flight the next day
Landlord is really nice and kind. The property is located in a very lovely countryside place close to Stansted airport. Very beautiful views around the hotel. The fridge in the room is very good and useful for storing food.
Location was good - parking was good but the outside area needed weeding, rubbish needed clearing and the splendid view at the rear of the hotel was spoiled by the lack of attention to the grounds of the hotel.
The worst hotel in the world painted my door while I was out; both sides, then didn't tell me, and there were no signs. I got covered in paint, which the staff thought was hilarious and laughed at me.
Close to airport, we could go by local bus for less than 2 £. Busstop is just opposite the hotel. The cosy English pub nearby. The environment is nice, with feeling of the typical English countryside.
Beautiful property, in a lovely countryside area with delicious pub nearby, kindly proprietor, perfect for our first night in England, close to Stansted Airport.
Close location to the airport. Walking time 30min. Frequent busses from/ to the airport. Bus stop right in front of hotel. Wifi and hot water working fine.
