Brilliant location, nice welcome and good breakfast
A lovely place, a lovely area. Great service and food options from The Deli, overlooking the harbour. The evening meal at The Starfish was ok, but the organisation, attention to detail and service wasn’t ok.

Tarbert is a lovely little town with plenty of shops for food and other supplies, without being a busy shopping centre. There are great walks around the area, and if you can travel a bit there are loads of places to visit, or you could just sit and watch the world go by in the harbour!

Eating out in Tarbert can be a problem early in the week.
Eating out in Tarbert can be a problem early in the week. There is a limited choice at the best of times, but most places seem to be closed on a Tuesday (and maybe some other days as well).
A tour of Tarbert itself only takes half an hour or less, but it is in an attractive setting. I suggest you pass through in the daytime, have a coffee in Cafe Ca'Dora, buy local whisky from the specialist local seller, and move on.

Tarbert is a lovely little seaside fishing village on the shores of Loch Fyne in Argyle. It's a nice location with great facilities for a small village. We ate in the Stonefield Castle restaurant about two miles from the village. The setting and view from the dining room were outstanding, both the service and food were excellent.
We loved the whole place! We had a King Size room with a lovely view of the sea which was amazing! The room was Exceptionally clean and the furnishings were fab and very tasteful. The bathroom in particular was outstanding!
The location is fab as you are just outside the main centre of Tarbert which allows for a much quieter and tranquil experience.
Martyn the host was so hospitable and we really enjoyed our chats with him. Sam the puppy was gorgeous and we joined them both for a lovely wee walk along the cove.
I've stayed in hundreds of hotels all over the world, over many years of work related travel, and can think of few better than the Knap guest House, (ok I was in the best room, but nonetheless it was great). Met on arrival by Alan, who almost answered any questions before I could ask, smiley friendly guy. The furnishings, with an African feature were really pleasing on the eye. Comfy bed, seats and settee. VG WiFi. A view to die for. Breakfast choice superb, delivered outside door on the button time wise.
We stayed at the moorings as we had a wedding nearby at Crear. The moorings is in the perfect location in Tarbert overlooking the harbour yet far enough away that you can’t hear the main street in the evening. Andrew was an excellent host, his house is very clean and the bed was super comfortable. He makes a mean breakfast in the morning which I would highly recommend.
Lovely spacious modern, clean room with fantastic views over the outer harbour. Great en suite and shower. Easy free parking on the quiet road outside. Nice 5 minute walk along the shore to the centre of Tarbert. Martyn was happy for us to arrive late at night (due to ferry) and was a great host. Overall a great place to stay. Highly recommended.
Large clean room with a small fridge, sitting area and satellite TV. Free parking outside was a bonus and there are nice views over the small harbour. Although our private bathroom was located outside, but near, the room, it was large with a walk in shower and plenty of hot water and very clean. A good budget hotel room.
Beautiful old house in a great location by the ocean. Spectacular views of the bay and a short walk to the harbour area in Tarbert. Rooms well equipped and we had a tasty and sizable breakfast. They even prepared a hefty breakfast take away bag for us the day we had to catch the early ferry. Would stay here again.
The hosts are fantastic in this whimsical B&B located right on the Main Street across from the harbour. We stayed in the Isle of Eigg room which was very comfortable and bright. The private bathroom is across the hall which was easy. Great location and the breakfast including the Mexican pudding is to die for.
Wonderful, quiet location down a long drive before you get to Tarbert. Instructions left inside directed us to the woodland walking path to Tarbert. A very pretty walk. Informative information on where to park and eggs for sale. Comfortable accommodations with plenty of room for the three of us.
The Knap Guest House is in a great location on Tarbert Harbour. The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was provided on a tray to the room which consisted of a hot roll (bacon or egg), toast, cereal, tea, coffee and juice. We would definitely stay here again.
Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was gorgeous-beautifully decorated with an amazing view of the harbour. Very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. We loved it here and we didn't want to leave!!!! Tarbert is a beautiful harbour town and we will definitely be returning.
Beautiful home right on the edge of the village of Tarbert, with friendly and welcoming hosts. My bed was comfortable, bathroom and shower were quite nice, breakfast was delicious. Excellent and peaceful place to stay!
Tarbert is such a great seaside town and our room overlooked the Harbour and was so clean. We only had a quick night due to a ferry we had to catch but we wished we had booked an extra night to check out the area more.
The location and outlook, views from the bedroom over the harbour. Friendly staff and the locals were very friendly and chatty. We will definitely visit again and stay for longer.
Friendly welcome, a good packed lunch provided for going on the boat to St Kilda, easy walking distance from Tarbert. Excellent communication before arrival. Great breakfast.
how strange it was. had no hint that it actually was a barge. I spent ages looking for a pub/hotel called “The Barge”. I think that should be made clear
