Sarah was a great hostess. She took the time to help us with some of our travel plans, including identifying some places to stay in the area we were about to travel to. She also made us a beautiful breakfast (asked for scrambled eggs, salmon, mushrooms, and bread) at the time we requested. It was perfectly prepared. In addition to the breakfast she offered home-made granola, fruit, including apples from her apple trees, and home-made conserves. The room was lovely and comfortable. Stroud House was a perfect choice for our visit to the Isle of Wight.

Very small, historic town, very olde world, friendly people, not over burdened with gift shops, lots of pubs in a small area. Most offering good traditional cooking. Like the castle, it's small but well kept. If you like fish and chips, they are wonderful from the blue crab. Best pub, wheatshief, friendly, good beer, good food and dog friendly.

Yarmouth has a good hotel and some great restaurants. It is a ferry port for a rail-connected ferry to the mainland of England and has a good bus service to other parts of the Isle of Wight. It is surrounded by countryside with some good walks and pleasant beaches.

Lovely little town with great hotels, inns, restaurants and shops. Handy for sailing and boating people, but for landlubbers like me, too, with ferry from Lymington right in the town. It's pricey but not overpriced and guests are made to feel special and very welcome and it's one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in, after the Chewton Glen in Hampshire and Aldrovandi in Rome.
