A lovely B&B, nicely decorated and in a great location at the bottom of town not far off the main street and close to several pubs and cafes. Clean and comfortable room, however two flights of stairs to the top floor can be a challenge for the elderly with luggage. Car parking available is a bonus but the limited spaces mean the hosts have to shuffle cars around which we didn't find to be a problem.

To be honest, we made Shrewsbury a stop off point as we travelled to Wales for a weeks cottage holiday. We stopped on the 'way down' and on the 'way back', to break up long journeys.
However, from our two half days in Shrewsbury it looks like a place for longer stays. The museum and art gallery were very interesting. The shopping areas were very good, with a good mix of larger names (M&S, Sea Salt, White Stuff ...) and independents. There were many eating places, but obviously we weren't able to make use of all but two in the town, both of which were very good.
It looks like a place we will return to!

Shrewsbury is a great town to visit which we do several times a year. Summer time is definitely worth a visit but we go all year round and always enjoy ourselves. Full of history, quirky hotels, bars and restaurants and great for shopping. Umai restaurant is outstanding for us food always delicious. A trip on the river boat highly recommended. Several places to park all within a short distance of the centre.

The town is packed full of historic beautiful biuldings Riverside walk is an absolute must... Town centre to Castlefields especially. The Abbey, castle , and lots of one off shops. Hidden in nooks and crannies are such delights as the old post office the old prison and boutiques.
Don't miss The Dingle gardens as you take the walk.

Shrewsbury there is plenty of places to eat and drink resonable prices
Plenty of shops easy to get around a bit hilly in parts for people with mobility issues. good walks along river bank and in parks plenty of space to wonder if you don't want the town.
Not keen on breakfast - cheep and poor quality cereal and coffee tasted terrible couldn’t drink it. Hotel far out and cost lot in taxi. Room was good size and bed comfortable would prefer softer pillows. Towels soft. But not sure why washed them when kept on rail not good for environment which shame. Not sure if product vegan / cruelty free, place I stayed in before in Shrewsbury had both - okay but not likely to pick again. One big plus was could have bike in room. Thank you
What's not to like about The Shrewsbury Hotel. Great location, excellent rooms with everything you need. Great food and alcohol at great prices! We've already booked our return visit in a couple of weeks. Shrewsbury is a beautiful town which is great for shopping, bars and restaurants. Boat trips and a beautiful park all there to enjoy. It's now our go to place for a little getaway when needed. Definitely recommend a visit.
this was one of the worst experiences of my life. I turned up, the hotel had closed down. the entire town was booked up because of a rock concert and the nearest place I could stay was 15 miles away!!!!!!
thank god for an old school friend that put me up for two nights. yes, I called the owners. they DID NOT CARE!!!! I cried so much, it was a dreadful experience.
A lovely historical hotel in an excellent location. The staff are very friendly and offer superb customer service, especially the manageress Charlie, who ensured that we had a wonderful stay. Breakfasts are very good, and the staff were very helpful and efficient. Have stayed before and would certainly stay again.
We liked the friendly staff, the cleanliness, the location and the comfort. The fact there was a free car park connected to the hotel was a bonus. We stayed two nights and would definitely return if the opportunity ever arose. We would recommend the Lion and Pheasant to anyone planning a trip to Shrewsbury.
What a great place in the heart of Shrewsbury. Cheap, plentiful public parking a hundred yards away. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Outstanding breakfast. Large, comfortable room with a very comfy bed. The staff was so polite, professional, and helpful. We had a wonderful stay.
Located just on the edge of Shrewsbury town centre, it's a good distance from the river and restaurants with 2 parking spaces available and a corner shop next door. Mostly as described but angles towards an airbnb vibe more than a hotel or cottage stay.
Hotel was very modern and clean. Beds were comfortable and the location was perfect as we were close to everything! Called the number provided by the hotel and staff seemed very polite and helpful, such an easy check in and check out process too.
The hotel is in a great central location and everything in Shrewsbury is easily within walking distance.
The breakfast was great and very enjoyable.
The room itself is not a bad size for a single room.
The friendliness and approachability of the owners and staff were fantastic. Boutique Hotel, which was very quaint with tasteful decor and delicious food. Excellent location for exploring Shrewsbury
The property was in the centre of Shrewsbury. Once parked no car needed. The car park was literally round the corner from the hotel. The staff were warm and friendly nothing too much trouble.
A lovely, quirky little hotel right in the heart of Shrewsbury, with views over the river and the historic bridge. Food for dinner and breakfast was excellent and the staff were good.
In the heart of Shrewsbury. Situated above a lovely pub/restaurant. The food was outstanding, the (included) breakfast menu had several good choices to meet all palates and diets.
Location was lovely, grounds pretty with a nice lake and fountain. The main part of the hotel was nice, put the staples needed to be refurbished and fell short of expectations.
